Hmm.. the venus - aphrodite puzzle isn't *that* obtuse. Anyone with some
time on their hands and a very loose knowledge of greek/roman mythology
who latched onto the whole venus thing could have tried that eventually...

Ok, I'm about to deal with a few random rantings on this thing right
now. I'm highly confused and I'm not going to get sleep tonight...
that much is obvious.
But here we go. My first question involves one of the faded pictures
of Evan on the In Memorium page off Jeanine Salla's website. For
some reason, the center picture is the only one that is not
completely see-through. There is a white, curve-shaped object in his
left hip area. I've tried zooming in through adobe, but nothing is
clear. Perhaps someone could check on that. Plus, those pictures
show Jeanine with her arm around Evan. Evan described his
relationship with her as they seem to be a couple, but are not. He
says the feelings don't exist. Maybe for him... but it seems quite
the opposite from her. Either way, the picture seemed important to
me. Very weird.
Also. Laia's page links to a page on Mann Act 2. The first Man Act
involved legal repurcussions for prostitution. The bottom email in
Chan's private page is a message from Kitty's Sin Massage Institute.
Laia likes sex. I may be drawing too many conclusions here... but
perhaps Laia, as a post-human implanted with AI's is a sex-bot... or
is involved with sex0bots. Perhaps Venus is one? I DON'T KNOW I'M
CONFUSED!
Doesn't this seem kind of dark for a Spielberg movie? Never mind...
it's Kubrick's idea.
Laia does seem obsessed with Inourimage. Possibly has to do with her
AI tendencies.
At the inourimage website, there is an article on the Turing-Dicks
test. Where some robots didn't even know they were robots. And
people testing the robots didn't know either. This information leads
to all sorts of possibilities. Maybe Chan is a robot... maybe he
isn't really dead... maybe that's why his autopsy reports are
removed... maybe I'm full of it?
Ah well. maybe someone can help me out here. I'm going crazy.
G'nite ya'll.
Oh by the way. I'm Scott. I'm new. And I have a lot of questions.
Scott
I'm dying to find the link to the Anti Robot Militia page. You're
right, they mention it at In Our Image, but they don't link it.. and
as we know, in this game, they seem to LINK when they want us to go
somewhere new.
This brings up a bigger question. Are these pages time-release? Have
we gone as far as we can for today, only to wait for something new to
pop-up later?
-Cabel
Coronersweb also lets us access the autopsy report of Kent
Whitman, a guy who was mentioned in an article on the anti-robot
militia page. I know we dont have a link to that site, but it is
mentioned on the inourimage site. The Coalition for Robotic Freedom
has a plea on their site asking others not to link to the anti-robot
site. That is a pretty explicit clue. All you have to do is type anti-
robot militia into google.
I have a comment about the venus - aphrodite puzzle. There is
no way someone could have stumbled on to that. The person who posted
that note also pointed us to the belladerma web site. Do a search on
the net and that site doesn't come up except on Whois.net. It hasn't
been indexed yet. Every other site currently available in this game
will come up in a search engine or is directly linked to by another
site. That means the poster is probably in on the game and is feeding
us leads.

Hey guys,
I'm trying to sort out the trail of what leads to what in this clue trail.
Can we assume www.familychan.org is the "starting point"?
So, here it goes:

www.coronersweb.org -> Evan's coroner report. What else? [!]
www.bangaloreworldu-in.co.nz -> 212 503 1177 (Jean's Number)
www.bangaloreworldu-in.co.nz -> jean's calendar
www.bangaloreworldu-in.co.nz -> www.metropolitanlivinghomes.com [5]
(in news story 3)
www.metropolitanlivinghomes.com -> www.denkendeneshaus-de.dk [6] (beate bosch)
www.metropolitanlivinghomes.com -> Kate Nei / Venus revelations
www.metropolitanlivinghomes.com -> Surreal "Hosue Calls" column
www.denkendeneshaus-de.dk -> Christ! It's all German! [!]
That's where I leave off. Items market [!] warrant more exploration to me.
Their rules: links are ALWAYS linked.
Is that all we have so far, in front of the curtain?
-Cabel
Laia designed or updated the Salla family site on the same day that
Evan died; March 8, 2142. According to Laia, the encrypted letter
appeared on her site that day just 2 hours before she found out about
Evan's "accident". First question: Is it coincidence that Laia
designed the site on the day that Evan died, or, if she just updated
the site on that day, why have there not been any more updates since?
Second question: What is the significance of the Japanese picture
that accompanied the element puzzle? It is a picture of a Japanese
lady holding a tea cup. The name of the person who accessed Evan's
autopsy report was named Sencha. Sencha is a type of green tea. Could
the picture be the signature of Sencha? Is the picture a way for Evan
to let Laia know the letter is from him? Perhaps we should look for
other people with japanese or chinese ties.
Tim,
I'm pretty sure the "yahoo" site is this one. (And, for the worthless
record, I set it up, but Alex is cool too.)
Here's my thought before I go to bed.
Evan has two kids, right?
But, according to his bio at http://www.donu-tech.com/chan.html , he
only won the "baby lottery" once, and therefore was barred from
future participation.
So, one of his children must be an A.I...
Hmmmmm.

2) This may be considered by
some to be "looking behind the
curtain", but in the end it'll save us some frustration -- after
looking at the HTML source of the IASA-number entry pages at
the Martin Swinton and Metropolitan Homes site, it's obvious that
both forms lead nowhere; no matter what you enter, you'll be
lead to a "Bad Value" page. It's a red
herring.
www.iasa.org leads to
a current era site from Durham, NC (home of the 919 area code).
I've given up for tonight....and I'm just staring at
those Laia pictures now!
I've effectively given up.....if it's gonna take
leaps of logic like venus=>aphrodite I'm afraid
to say count me out! I never even got as far as
Venus! I've gotten loads of little inconsequential
minutae so far, but it's just cracking the passwords
that's seems impossible right now....
I know I'll be back tomorrow though!
Thanks to Alex for setting this up.

Finally, a Media Empire that loves you back. Now c'mere and give
us a hug.
Apparently the msg is nothing
more than Jeanine telling Laia
that Nancy (? who is she ?) didn't think Laia should go to Evan's
funeral as it might upset her. (I THINK... this is what I gleaned
from AICN; I haven't heard the msg myself).
That's exactly what it said. I'm in the 212 area code, so I've been
trying all sorts of number combinations tonight. I haven't found
anything else.
Somebody figured this out over at AICN - the 600thing
corresponds to spelling out "MOTHER" on a telephone keypad.
'Mother' is saying that it's stupid to use the keypad version of your
own name, as a password.
The significance of this is at Jeanine's voicemail thing, where
Laia has a message waiting. If you convert Laia's name to
keypad numbers, then that sequence can be used as a
password.
Apparently the msg is nothing more than Jeanine telling Laia
that Nancy (? who is she ?) didn't think Laia should go to Evan's

My big want-to-know is an UAN. There are two places (the
Dermathing website, and the Anti-Robot Militia) that we can use
such information at.

I don't think that's a hole, that's one of those plastic gizmos that you

Okay, so Laia is clearly not a true AI -- she's an enhanced human with AI
implants. Their website indicates that she 'made' Colleen. Does this
mean that Laia brought Colleen to term?
I want another mention of Colleen... What kind of child is she?
-Alex

Who is Colleen?
What does the S in Evan's name stand for (did anyone else catch
SENCHA being the anagram of ES CHAN?)?
Who is mother?
What is up with the beating heart symbol next to Evan's picture on
the Sallas' website? Is he still alive? No, he had an autopsy.
What are the keys? What are the keyholes?
Will I ever get to sleep tonight and subsequent nights?
Did anyone catch my theory on the Sallas on the AICN website? One
thing to note is that Laia has optical implants with download and
playback capability. Did she see what happened? Will we be able to
see it?
Also, there's an entry in Evan's calendar on 2/11/2142 that
says "check with L. for report (be sure not to download to home!)" or
something along those lines. Who was he spying on? First day and
we've all figured out a lot. We also have a lot more to go. Later.

There's a peculiar pop on his corporate website, accessed from
Metropolitan Living Homes -- it's simply 'IASA' and spawns a small window
prompting you for an IASA Associate ID Code. Tried the mother code, no
good.
Speaking of Mother -- I believe it's speaking directly to US, the

Hey Alex,
I agree. I think the best challenge to this game is to get from site
to site and solve the mystery of these people WITHOUT using the list
of sites on AICN. It's entirely possible thus far -- at least /one/
page in each site will link you off to another, entirely new site.
So let's see if we can play by the rules and crack this! I have a lot
of theories and I'll be posting them over time. (This is "Eric" from
AICN, BTW).
I've thought about putting together a web site listing what we know
so far, including a trail of what clue leads to what clue. What do
you guys think?
Here are my biggest questions, thus far.
1) Who is "Mother"?
2) What is the use of the six-digit code that you get in Evan's E-Mail?
3) What's the significant of entering our phone number at
unite-and-resist? Will we get called?
4) Is there a username/password for the Cyber Coroner system?
What are you top questions?
And of course, the number one question -- our goal? -- WHO KILLED EVAN?
Was it Cloudmaker, jealous? Was it Venus, the crazy AI? Was it
someone at his company, setting him up because he wouldn't play by
company rules? So many questions..
This is fun!

I think this has something to do with the coroner site. The subject
title of 'Grave Robbers' and 'going through dead men's pockets' indicates
this to me. Perhaps 668437 is one of the corner passwords.

anything else that people see as major roadblocks?
