To the 4x4 blindsolvers: How long do the 4x4 edges take you *not*
blindfolded but with your blindsolving method? I've done this a few
times, *not* blindfolded: scramble and solve centers+corners normally
(i.e. speedsolving), then take the time for solving edges with my
blindfold method but not blindfolded. I'm usually around 3-4 minutes,
how good is that?

Hey Stefan, I just took two times, 3:27.60 and 3:21.00. I think sub-3 would be possible on a good solve. Yeah I tend to agree, coming up with how to solve the...
Ha, finally I got two without parity, and I was also quite fluent. The results were 2:41.95 and 2:52.00. Btw, I've done this maybe 10 times now :-). I gotta...
Haha, I think I'll keep it secret and get under 2 minutes and let you beg for an explanation ;-) Yes, pure 3-cycle commutators with setup moves. Simply...
... you ... Alright, you can start begging: 1:52.78. Nah, just kidding (not with the time, that one is real). Your approach seems to work very well, too, so...
Ok I definitely cannot compete with your times, but you have definitely inspired me to try to go faster. I just did two solves counting the number of moves for...
With more practice trying to go very very fast: 1:52.14 One long 23 cycle on this solve, so this is pretty much an ideal solve, but glad to also be sub-2 :-D ...
... Nice, very nice. Congrats! And wow, I didn't think you'd improve that much that fast! How about an average? I just got 2:16.17, single times were: 2:10.95...
... Little correction: my 4x4 centers speedsolving is less of a brute force approach, it just shares the simplicity doctrine with those other two. Cheers! ...
I just made a video where I got 2:03.03: http://stefan-pochmann.de/foo/4x4_bld_edges_20303.wmv (4978 kb) Maybe I'm now twisting about as fast as Dror does,...
WOW! I'm simply amazed...how can you do the centers soooooooooo fast? Well, I never played with a real 4x4x4, but on gabbasoft's software I can't do 1 center...
... fast? Well, I never played with a real 4x4x4, but on gabbasoft's software I can't do 1 center in 10 seconds...doing all of them...pff.. .no chance... One...
Wow Stefan that video was very impressive! It looks like you are using a RrUu alg, or maybe more than one, to solve the edges. After watching that I think you...
... That's right, I only use this one and its inverse: R U R' U' (Rr) R' U R U' (Rr)' Well, and at the very end, I might add this parity fix: (l' U2) (l' U2) x...
Hmm.. I've thought about solving by pairs of transpositions for ending off more than one odd edge cycle. So if I have two odd cycles and I work them down to...
Wow this is really really really easy!!! I can just think of the two transpositions like this, I have (AB) and (CD). So I cycle A to B where it's supposed to...
Hi Chris, This is exactly what I do. It is indeed very easy once you get the hang of it (and even that isn't very hard). I have always just viewed a double...
... Wow, that's really good! Quite inconsistent, but I guess that will go once you treat odd cycles better. ... Wow, I have to try it again then. I think I did...
... Uh, just to add the benefits: - Always setting up only one edge is easy for the brain. - There are only 22 possible targets so you can *know* setup moves...
Hey Stefan, Yeah that's really cool. And I can see how that creates parity and you will have to either "solve parity" or not. What do you do if both buffer...
... don't ... Actually I don't like to think of it as two buffers. Only as one. It's switching between two places, but at one point of time, it's only at one...
... Again for an example of my solving style take a look at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/blindfoldsolving-rubiks-cube/message/490 I start every cycle...
Hey Chris, remember this thread? I've tried it again today and I think I average about 1:35. I got half a dozen times from 1:24 to 1:29, as well as 1:18.81...
