Hey, we had a great time last Friday night! 17 people were there.
We played a lot of games including: Formula De, Robo Rally, Ticket
to Ride, Diamant, Runebound, Coda, Cloud 9, Blokus, Bandu, Raceway
57, and Loco!

I'd say my biggest mistake of the night was agreeing to teach and
play Runebound at 10pm. It started out as a 4-player game (the max
I like to play with) but then 2 more jumped in at the last second
for a 6-player game!!!! As you know if you've played this game
before, the more players...the more downtime.

However...Sarah quit right out of the gates (it was late and she was
tired). Clyde and Hillary lasted until around 1/1:30 but we were
still playing green and yellow challenges at that time! It was
sloooooow going. But we were down to 3 players now and things went
MUCH quicker. Still at around 2am Margaret was too tired to continue
and bailed but we were getting into the blue challenges at this
point, we were just a bit beat up and cash poor and none of us had
any really good weapons or allies. For whatever reason I saw more
heros die in this particular game than I ever have. I'm pretty sure
every hero died at least twice if not more!

So with just Jeremy and myself left, Jeremy drug his hero out of the
gutter and managed to win a few battles, finally getting his feet
under him. My character was a bit out of control though...I had
upgraded a lot (16/16/6) and after a few turns I managed to get a
really good item and ally. So I finally decided to go for the first
red challenge of the game...and guess who it was? Margoth! I was
able to whack him for 3 points of damage in ranged and then reflect
his own 5 points of damage in melee for probably the quickest defeat
of Margoth ever! It didn't even go one full round of combat and I
never used my ally! So we finished up the game at 2:30. There's
nothing like a 4.5 hour marathon dungeon crawl!

That was typical game night, say we're done at 11pm and actually
finish in the wee hours! We had fun though. Hopefully you'll join
us next month on Febuary 8th!!!
