We had a great turnout on Friday April 13th. I don't have an
official count and it did coincide with a teen night, but
approximately 15 people showed up just to play games and probably an
addition 10 teens played at least one game over the course of the
night (mostly Crokinole though).
What was played?
Personally, I played Liar's Dice, Blokus Trigon, Lifeboats, Ubongo,
Manila(twice), Settlers of Catan, RoboRally, No Thanks!, and MANY
games of Crokinole. I also these games being played: Exxtra, Ticket
to Ride, Elchfest, King's in the Court, That's Life!, Diamant, and
tons of Crokinole.
We had a lot of fun. I taught a few new games: Liar's Dice was new
to some and it went over well. Ubongo was all newbies except me and
they liked it, some loved it. RoboRally was well received while
Lifeboats went over like a wet brick.
I realized I was making a huge mistake when I pulled out Lifeboats
very very late. We were tired and as soon as I explained the basics
I realize it was a mistake and I tried to talk them out of playing
but the wheels were already in motion and they wanted to play
anyway. Well, let's just say that we didn't play well together.
Granted, you're not exactly supposed to get along but two players
teamed up (the one supported the other) and the rest of us were
ticked off about it. Anyhow, even I didnt have fun with it.
I'm looking forward to the next game night on May 11th!!
