I may be interested, though only on a temporary basis. I will be in the
Portland area from December 26 to January 7, so Sunday the second may work for
me.
I will be there on business, but should have some free time on the weekend. I
may even be able to drum up one other player. We are staying in Hillsboro.

OK, Jan 2nd sounds good to me. A&A Pacific is up to three players (US, UK,
Japan) so a third player is good.

I'm situated in Buckhead near the Lenox mall.

If and when you know you'll be free, give me an email.

Look forward to hearing from you,

   Giles

I just got this for Xmas, and love this one the best, I have heard
that you can find a way to put A&A europe up together with A&A
Pacific. Is this true or am I delusional.? (I swear I saw this
someplace)... That would be a cool A&A macho game if it would work.
In afghanistan We played the hell out of this game. Now if only I
can get players in Louisville Ky.......Clay

Hello there,

I'm writing in response to a letter that was posted a while back. I
just found the group and I'm a new memember. If you're looking for
miniatures, especailly of figures, the best site I've found is
Classic Toy Soldiers. Sorry I don't have a link handy, but you can
google them and find them. They have all scales and all
Nationalities. I've purchased 1/32 scale Germans, Russians, Brits,
Yanks, Japanese and even Italians.

We messed around trying to make a bigger board a few years back. We
used full-sized poker chips and these 1/32 scale infantry. We used
old ROCO HO scale plastic tanks. You used to be able to get them for
a buck a piece back in the day. We had to use the ships from the game
though...only thing we could find that would fit on the poker chips.
We never did put the map on a board...just on posterboard.

Easiest way to transfer the map was to trace the original on paper
and then use an opaque projector...like an overhead but for books and
such to project it onto a board and enlarge it. Should be able to get
an opaque projector at your local school or maybe a library. I teach
and used the one at the school.

Would love to see your board when it's done.

I just got the new edition for Christmas, it has a new board and has
added destroiers and Artillary pieces to the game. It also has
changed the starting pieces and money I believe it has become a more
competitive game but have only played a couple times. There are
also new victory conditions and a lot of cool country specific
optional rules. Worth looking into, you can also still buy the
orginal game online.

HI

I was wondering if a Transport ended last movement on the sea square
of Gibralter and Algeria would it be able to unload one infantry each
into each country? or would that be two actions/turns?

Technically -

It takes the remainder of the Transport's move to unload any units into any
zone. So, in response to your question, you can not land from the same
transport units to different zones in the same round.

Hi,

Please take a look at the following image of the south pacific in
classic A&A for reference. The two edges of the board have been
brought together in the center:
http://GamesByEmail.com/SouthPacific.gif

The game I bought in 2003 has the "second edition rules" book. In it,
it says sea zones 3 & 4 are adjacent.

The game also game with a "Rules Clarification" booklet, which says
sea zone 1 is also adjacent to 4 & 5.

My question: Is sea zone 1 then also adjacent to 3?

Thanks,
Scott

Yes. Avalon Hill and Wizards of the Coast re-released Axis & Allies:
Revised Edition in 2004. They changed the National colors and few game
spaces, added destroyers and artillery. I personally like the Original
Milton Bradley version, but the new one is still very playable. My
favorite version for long game is Axis & Allies: Europe and for a
quick 2 player game, Axis & Allies: D-Day. You can check out the
Revised Edition at http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/prod/axis

Actualy I wrote to Milton Bradley a few years back with a list of
questions about the rules, including this one. Then I misplaced the
reply letter so in preparing for a tournament I sent another letter
with this same question again. Then I found the first response
again. The answer in the first letter was "yes". The answer in the
second letter was "no". So in the end the official answer to this
question depends on which person at Milton Bradley you manage to
contact.

Small group in the Youngstown Ohio area looking for players of Axis &
Allies (all versions). Novice to expert players welcome - you don't
even need to own a copy of the game. If you are in the area and want
to learn the new (Avalon Hill) versions, this is a great opportunity
to try the games before you buy. Email me direct if interested and we

Hey, Scott. Very neat idea. How has it worked so far? I've played some role
playing games by email and they always ended when the keeper left the game. I
know this is a different kind of game. Any thoughts about this?

It's worked great going on 8 years now for games like chess,
backgammon, etc. It has worked very well for Gambit (a game like
Risk) for over 5 years now. The web server is the keeper, and it
doesn't get bored. :)

Best way to find out is to give it a try. It's free and there is
nothing to install.

Cheers,
Scott

Two years of work, but it's finally ready, at least for some expanded
testing. A lot of early kinks have been worked out over the last
month. If you want to give it a try with your buddies and send me your
thoughts, that would be great.

I hope to get some feedback before I make the link public.

Let me know what you think,
Scott

Hey, Scott. Very neat idea. How has it worked so far? I've played some
role playing games by email and they always ended when the keeper left the
game. I know this is a different kind of game. Any thoughts about this?

Scott its great everyone should play, only thing is when you posted link, i
responded that i would like to play and an email from someone named Tim came
with a game already started. I have no idea who Tim is or how to get ahold
of him to thank him for playing and to ask for a rematch. the system is very
smooth and the help files are very good i highly suggest it to everyone and
whould like to play again
