Guys and Gals,
I hope the link I took off myspace works. The Social Cycling ATX club of Austin will be meeting at 1pm on the Pfluger foot bridge and riding together to Ginnys Little Longhorn for Dale Watson and bingo. I know we have a bunch of bike riders in our club. Perhaps some of you might want to join them.
Tonight at C/Hunts there will be live music and Chesters "school girls" slinging beers. They've taken to having theme nights on friday nights. First it was Bunnies, then cowgirls and tonight it will be school girls. I think the band this week is Chapperal. Good country music for dancing to.

Guys and Gals,
Drob and myself will be at C-Hunts tonight around 7 pm looking for some 42/88.
Friday nights are pretty lively at C-Hunts. Live music, a little dancing and
"theme" night for the beer slingers.
Sunday there is a bicycling group "Social cycling ATX" that will be meeting at
Pfluger foot bridge on town lake and riding together all the way to Ginnys
Little Longhorn to see chicken bingo and Dale Watson. I know some of you are
bike riders and thought you may enjoy. I plan on being at Ginnys Sunday but a
little later in the day. Hopefully some bones there and maybe spill over at
Billys later.

Vote for your favorite college coach of the year, or if you don't have a favorite, please vote for Mack Brown. You can voteonce a day until the end of the month.
I'll be there for you, these five words I swear to you.... when you breathe.....
Now try to get that song out of your head.

Guys and Gals,
Retired firefighters "Big Willie" and Kenneth texted me today. They will be at C/Hunts around 7 looking for some 42 competition. I have my last league game tonight at 6 at Billys but will be heading to C/Hunts as soon as we are done.
@Jeff: I'd be interested in finding a way for our club to get a domino record. Count me in if we decide how to do this thing.
Good Luck to all the teams in the Playoffs. It's time to get serious now. Thank you to all the teams that played this year. It's been a fun competitive season. We hope you all come back next Spring as well.
The latest word from Ginny, is that she plans on opening for us even after the season is over. Let's keep Monday Madness rolling as best possible.

Okay, enough responses say they want a game (already more than showed
up in November). We'll have the regular December Mini-T. Details will
come out late, but we'll do a straight tournament this time.
Short details:
Thursday, December 3, 7-10p
Drungo's Icehouse
29th/Rio Grande
Thanks for the responses. I'll follow up with a reminder after I return
from vacation

We were actually thinking closer to 7, but if people can't make it
until later, that's probably fine.

I wonder what the rules are in terms of defining the longest time frame. Those three kids played for 5 and 1/3 days. is that without sleep? what about food and bathroom breaks? just wondering what the rules are on it all. i highly doubt three kids stayed up for 128 hours straight. Thats a ton of mountain dew!

All,
It would be great to get a tournament attendance above the record 550 (only 275 teams).
We could shoot for the longest Texas 42 playing marathon, but we would have to find 4 willing souls (I'm in). I think 50 hours would be good, but a over 72 hours record could stand for a while.
There is only one record for the most people playing dominoes at one time.
We could also do most continuous games of 42 played.
Looks like it takes 4 weeks to get registration approved by Guiness. Cost is nothing unless we want to fast track the application approval (3 days) or need a record adjudicator.

Yo, all. So Nathan and I were hoping to get some practice in before
the playoffs. Is anyone up for playing tomorrow (Wednesday) at
Billy's? Or maybe somewhere else, if there's a regular Wednesday night
hangout. Say at 1900?

Guys and Gals,
Word on the street is that both of the teams we sent to Madisonville had good
days. Odie and Jody went undefeated in the morning and 2/2 in the afternoon.
Their two losses were both 7/6. Drob and Paul Kinser placed second. Congrats
to all of you.
PS Drob ends up the points leader for the year for the Austin42club in the
N42PA standings.
Bones at Ginnys starting around 4 Sunday. If it rains we will move to
Billys..........or when Ginnys closes we will move to Billys.
Come join the fun.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. We had nine people, so we
ran a two-table tournament of nine games with a rotating bye. Although
Brad and Darrell were jockeying for the lead for most of the night,
Ginger and myself pulled even with them on wins and tied total marks
in the last game to split the $45 pot. We collected $9 for the club
(don't let me forget to get this to you, Paul). Keep an eye out for
word of next month's tournament.

Please remember to bring some dominos, if you can. Call me at 773-6862
if you're going to be late. Remember, if you show up, you will play.

I hope this message finds you well! The little bit cooler weather makes it feel like we're having a real fall this year!
I'm very excited to tell you about a fundraiser that my sister-in-law's school is doing on Saturday, November 21st.
First - I want to warmly welcome you and your family & friends to this very exciting innagural event. (flyer attached)
November 21st from 4-6pm. Art Starts Here! is a benefit art show for The Olive Tree Learning Center, in conjunction with Austin Art Garage. Thai Fresh and Live Oak Brewery are providing refreshments for a small fee.
Second - Please let me know if anyone has an item that they would like to donate for the silent auction or if you have art you would like to make available for consignment. (we would just ask that The Olive Tree would receive 20% of your proceeds - letter & application with full details attached)
This fundraiser will raise money for continuing education through the arts; including playground equipment, gardening space, and installing more artistic areas for the children and teachers. You can learn more about The Olive Tree Learning Center at www.olivetlc.com
This past Thursday we didn't have quite enough people show to warrant a tournament, so let's try again this Thursday. Same rules (anything goes), same venue, same format...only this time please drop me an
e-mail if you can plan on coming. I think we need at least three tables going to make it worthwhile.

Guys and Gals,
I'm going to have to opt out since it doesn't appear we have enough to play 42
at each dive. I'd do it alone but I have something else important to me
going on today as well. I'll be on the steps of the captial telling our
elected officials to stop spending money we don't have.
I think Drob and myself will be at Ginnys around 7 or 8 to toss tiles.
