Dear Members,
In the event you would like to know more about HMGS you can go to this
address and view their May newsletter. You have to join the Classical
Hack Yahoo Group to view it.
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Classical-Hack/join
You can also get this by e-mailing me direct. So if you don't know
much about HMGS or don't even know what it is this PDF might prove
interesting and informative.
Why do this? It is very important to get people more active in
historical miniature gaming. The more people who are aware of what's
going on in the hobby might be sparked to become active. We should all
be aware of what's going on in the hobby even if we do not like what
we read. I think knowledge is power in any case.
Sincerely,
Phil

Subject: [littlewars] Re:Storing 1/32nd scale figures and accessories
Dear Rick,
I have employed pre-made heavy duty cardboard boxes for many years in the
storage of my wargaming armies. I have thousands of painted figures which are
based on squares of masonite. The squares are 3 inches and 4 inches, and I also
have thousands on 12-inch x 1 inch wide sticks. I put a custom-cut piece of
masoninte down in the box, leaving about a half inch on each side to allow me to
pick it up easily, then put the based figures down on the board. When I open the
box I can take out one square, or lift out the entire board. If you look up a
local box manufacturer or wholesaler near you, you can usually buy a pack of 25
boxes in a wide variety of sizes. I tend to use boxes which are about 20 x 14 x
3 high for infantry and 20 x 14 x 4 high for cavalry. For more info, please
contact me directly.

Friends,
my fiance is proving a real trooper/trouper! Saturday she drove me around Eau
Gallie, FL looking for a venue for our FL wedding reception and as a bonus not
only took me to the Brevard Art Museum, but also took me to the Old Toy Store on
Main Drag. WAY in the back of this HUGE place, dimly lit, there is a stack of
plastic bins in steel shelving where one may dig to one's heart's (wallet's)
content.
There, Dorothy found me a hatful of Marx, Ideal, Auburn and unknown (scan
ahoy!) figures, plus a few PVC's for THAT collection - all in wonderful shape!!
What a woman!

Thanks - had a blast. I've done 1-2 of these things every summer for
the past 20 years, so I've got lots of pics. So glad people have
liked them. Pee Gee had to post them for me cas I still haven't
figured out my new computer.
Next summer will be a bridge too far type battle. I've built a 16'
long bridge that's abt 2 1/2 ' wide as the centerpiece of the battle
and will have 25-30 city bldgs to use (Hobby Binker's new two and
three bldgs are terrific) as well as Ron Barzso's new castle. I can't
wait!

Since I last posted here, there have been some new developments with our
website. I installed new Galleries in the website at the end of October 2007.
You are welcome to view them. You are even more than welcome to become a
registered member and upload your wargaming photos to our website, if you wish.
Our new galleries can be found at http://www.gywargames.co.uk/pics I shall be
uploading loads more photos over the Christmas period.
I posted my photos of the Durham Wargames Group Annual Show on November 23rd
2007. You can find them here:
http://www.gywargames.co.uk/pics/index.php?cat=7
Not had a chance to upload to our new galleries all my Partizan May 2007 photos
- the full collection, I mean - but you can view my Partizan photos so far in my
personal album here:

Also announcing that in 2008, the Grimsby Wargames Society is going Mobile! The
club will get its own specially designed mobile site, in addition to its main
website. Thus joining thousands of Mobile sites around the world on the Mobile
Internet, giving us more exposure. It will have all the elements of the main
website, including viewing of RSS Feeds, downloading/viewing of our photos,
dedicated Rapid Fire! page (again) and much more.
At the moment I am considering building a Wiki for the club, which is also where
the Club Bibliography will be placed: Listing of Articles/Photos by Members that
have been published in various Wargames Magazines.
Finally, if you are in the area of our Club this Friday, 28th December 2007, you
are all invited to join us for a huge game set in the War of the Spanish
Succession. 10am Start. Thousands of Figures on the table. Organised by our own
Paul Robinson, who no doubt will be posting the game report on his blog at
http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.com I will be posting and taking photos for my
blog at http://grantsgrimsbygames.blogspot.com
More information can be found on Paul's blog here:
http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.com/2007/12/grimsby-open.html
This notice was also posted on The Miniatures Page on Christmas Eve. View the
full news item here:

On another note I would like to add that several members of our club have
recently started building terrain boards for our World War 1 games, which are
very popular at the club at the moment. You can keep up to date with their
progress by clicking on the "WW1 Terrain Boards" link on my blog.
Happy New Year to all you.

Pee Gee, these pics show you a bit more of the landing craft I used
in the Pacific invasion battle. They include, as you can see, LCM3s
that, in this instance, are kit built from Trumpeter's 1/35th scale
LCM. Their 1/35th scale version of this boat is just big enuf to hold
a 1/32nd scale tank, tho the driver wld have to be mighty careful.
Works pretty well, tho, for wargaming. The other battle you see is a
Tripoli style battle involving Brits, Arabs, French, pirates, and
Marines. The French are Barzso French and cream colored Accurate AWI
Brits which pass for French and which are some of my fav troops.
Ron's Tripoli fortress walls plus walls from CTS, Barzso, and Hobby
Bunker enclose my town, which is made up of buildings from the same
companies.

What i mean is that i have all the stuff but i cant find any good rules their
all the 1 man equals 20 kind i want a simple 1:1 scale one that plays fast while
still retaining some degree of realism i found 1 called lead from the front but
when i clicked on it it just said cannot access from this server.

Perhaps the lack of WWI armymen in 1/32 scale. Are
there enough WWI figs to make a game?
