Movement Factors: Cossacks!   Message List

They'll move at the same rate as tanks for a max of 4 moves, then horsey gets
pooped. After that, they will move 1.5 times as fast as infantry as long as it's
open terrain. Heavy woods becomes no-go terrain for them. They will still be
able to negotiate slow-go terrain at the same speed as infantry but as you know,
there is no such thing as no-go terrain for infantry. Vehicular no-go terrain
will be no-go for horsies, too. Vehicular slow-go will be go terrain for the
horsies. Infantry slow-go will be slow-go for them as well. Yup, I got it all
thought out.

Have you seen Armies in Plastic's mounted Cossacks?!  Someone has FINALLY done
it!  They are all armed with rifles on their backs, I'll have to do some
conversions to have Ppsh's on the backs of some, but holy crap! It's finally
been done!  I think I'll get 150 of green  and brown. I'll use the charbens
HMG guy as the HMG's for the Bn (put them in Mx recast wagons! And I'll use the
Cherilea mortar guys to provide the indirect fire. This is going to hurt the ol'
bank account some but, I've wanted this for a long time!

BS - That's a US soldier. This pic was circulated years ago. Notice the
stylized A on the PT Shirt. He's in standard issue US Army Summer PT uniform.
The original gave the name of this guy, an E-7 if I remember correctly.  The
weapon is the M-16A2 which was still pretty common issue even amongst some
combat units, the M-4 now being standard issue for combatants now.
