Dear Members,
As you know I seldom get angry about much. There are times that my
anger exceeds even my disappointment with the film Troy. Today I went
to my local Barnes and Noble only to find that they had pulled most of
their bargain book display items of historical, military and ancient
and medieval books.
I ask you to do this if you have time. Visit your local Barnes and
Noble stores and see if this is being done there too. Ok so the
economy is in the tank but it costs nothing to look.
Finally ONLY if you find the same is true e-mail them
customerservice@...
(that costs nothing) and express your disappointment.
Here is what I wrote:
---------
Dear customerservice@...,
I made my usual Sunday morning trip for the paper and a book or two at
your Amherst New york branch store. I was very disappointed to see
that the bargain book section was stripped of almost all of the
general history, military history and ancient & medieval history
selections. As an author and historian I can assure you that I will be
visiting the other local B&N stores in the area and figure out if this
is a store choice or a general marketing approach.
Please tell me this is not your new policy on selections or just very
poor judgement by a store manager.
Sincerely,
-----------
So check out the situation for yourselves before writing anything.
Sincerely,
Phil
