First fly on the 13 V today.
Wind: Stormy, rainy, gusty. Averaging 16-20 mph. Gusts to low-mid twenties.
Me: 175 lbs. 157 WT, intermediate rider.
The hype is true -- the kite rockets across the window, jumping on the upstroke
in comparison to G's. It had plenty of power and was very smooth and quick. I
could park and go upwind at will, but also stop the kite easily by edging hard.
I didn't have enough time on the water to really get a feel for the kite -- the
storm blew in and we all packed up our gear in a torrential downpour. I was
well lit up in the gusts and wished I'd been on my smaller (136) board. To give
you a comparison, Traig was riding a 16 V on his 158 directional and told me
afterwards he could have been riding his 13 as well. Traig weighs 20 lbs more
than me.
I think a good rider of my weight on a fast board could ride this kite from 15
mph up to 25 mph.
Based on a short session in less than ideal conditions, I am very much looking
forward to my next time on this kite.
Damn! Now I'm gonna have to start saving up for the 10!
Good Winds All,
Alex
PS. Tony Guance -- buy the 16 V. You will not be disappointed.
