Damage for such items is usually based upon either it's Weight or SDC,
+Str. Damage Bonus(though often determined by the GM, the 'd8/100 lbs.'
ratio is quite common); generally such an item suffers the same damage
to itself that the user does to a target(which is why they don't last
long, in the hands superstrong Characters; also, usually, if the item
suffers 3 times it's own max. listed damage, it is destroyed,
intstantly). Cooincidentally, unless the Character has specific bonuses
for throwing objects, the damage is determined much the same way.
And yes, ALL general weapons skills include the use of impromptu
weaponry...
