For all you nerds out there (myself included):
I recently ordered a Zalman VF700LED copper heatsink/fan solution for
my 7800GS. Then, after receiving the product and patiently waiting a
few days, i found out the cooler DOES NOT fit or properly cool a
7800GS. The problem is that it has a PCI-E to AGP conversion chip
(called a HSI bridge) what is not cooled by the Zalman (or any other
aftermarket cooler available), but the stock cooler does. So, if i
try to put this on my card, it will lock up and die (good thing i had
to wait to install it!)
Which brings me to my point. I have a BRAND NEW Zalman VF700LED VGA
cooler. I opened it once to look at the instructions, but did not
touch the cooler at all. This cooler is a standard for VGA cooling,
and if you look for reviews online you'll read a lot of happy people.
If you don't have a 7800GS, and you want to overclock your video card,
this is the cooler for you! Check it out at newegg:
