In addition to Mike's character - the Black Knight will be back after the holidays and has lvl 1 enchant - he's mercenary enough to teach enchant and would be able to work out some deal (either money, or MP's or items or some combo - or a straight trade if you can teach something he lacks.

There are two ways to learn the enchantment skill: Being taught via
the teach skill/learn skill special actions, or successfully
researching a project on your own.
To teach the enchantment skill, the teacher must be at least level 1 in
that skill, i'm not sure there are any around.
So you would have to do a research project. The following suggestions
are given, pick an easy enchantment, e.g. ring of dazing or blasting,
or +1 offensive enchantment. Have a study item skill of 5 or better, a
cunning higher than 40, have a storage device, and spend 50 magic
points, 50 knowledge points, and 1000 g.c.
I believe that when one tries, you will be given an indication( in
general terms) of how close you were to successfully researching the
project.
Based on that feedback, add to the mps/kps/and gold spent.
Remember, any research is a dice roll, therefore, you could be doing
everything right, and still come up with nada. Just some bad luck.
