It was another fine day at Grimhagen Ghost stadium where the visiting Orcland
Worriers turned up for another team building exercise. A surprising number of
Orc fans turned up, with nearly 2/3rds of the 27,000 gate wearing Orc colors.
The Orc management were heard to proclaim "You know your in trouble when they
start bring their kids to an Orc match, More blood and guts you bastards".
Hearing this the Master chef employed the Grimhagen ghosts, wiped up a batch of
black pudding and tripe that went down very well with the Orcs, distracting the
Orc coach in both halves (2 RR lost in each half).
The grimhagen ghosts were only fielding 11 men (2 strained groin injuries from
cheerleader practice incidents) against the Orc 15 man rooster (TV 124/170).
Thing didn't look good for the unlucky Ghosts until the game started, A quick
change of defense setup, a kick into the far corner and the Ghosts court the
Worriers napping. One of the Black orcs fell in the first block (double skulls,
then a both down) and the Ghosts saw their chance. A blitz opened a hole in the
Orc line, then 5 Ghosts set out for the ball that was still on the ground. By
the time that the Orc got organized, turn 2, there was no ghosts in front of
them, confused, them wondered forward looking for something to hit. The only Orc
near the ball, "Chucker" (infectious stomach disorder), looked at the ball, then
at the 5 Ghosts running toward it, then at the ball, then had an apthany (idea),
wonders over, picks up ball, and thack (hail Mary pass into the ghosts back
field ). In that one moment the Ghosts realized the futility of planning and
practices in BB. The roles totally reversed now as the Ghosts tried to cover the
ball while the whole Orc front line descended on them. In what can only be
called an "Over Power" play, the Orc's pick up the ball to score in turn 4.
The Ghost now lined up for the 5 turn drive. The Orc coach paid attention long
enough to get another reroll, then the ball was kicked into the middle of the
field. The Ghosts decided to put their plan into action, Knock'em down and push
up one flank. So the Ghosts swung right, knocked a hole and pushed through. The
ball was scooped up and passed it to a lineman who pushed forward on the right.
Then the Orcs with gleefully calls of "Ballee mine" wondered through the Ghost
protection players and smiled (strong Tripe & black pudding smell) at the ball
carrier. The Ghost ball carrier looked at the tall timber in his way and
decided, plan "B", run away, and dodged back toward the thrower, handing him the
ball. The thrower looked at the tall timber from his exposed position and
decided, Plan "B", run away, and throw away the ball. The Ghost linemen, open on
the left flank, watched the ball sail his way, hit him on the head, bounce off
his hands, twice, and drop to the ground, His last recollection were not of lost
glory but the noise "Ballee mine", before being flattened by the Orc front row.
The Orc Blitzer "Nailer" (sexual conquest's) now showed why he gets the big
bucks (Blodger), He picks up the ball in his half, sprints down field (2 GFI),
survives a blitz, then knocks players out of the way (1D6), dodges, GFI to score
in the Orc turn 8, a miracle play for a Orc.
At half time 2-0 TD 1-1 CAS and both Apothecaries were used .
Second half saw the Ghost receive. The weather decided to remain fine, and the
ball ended up on the left touch line. The Ghost's decided for a more
consolidated attacked and began a slow grind up the middle. This grind was also
associated with the Master Chef coming out with a new batch of tripe and Black
pudding. A number of Orcs wondered off the field for a feed in the dugout(
frenzy and sidelines). The ghosts were getting the numbers around the ball and
were looking good until in turn 14, they dropped the ball, at the Orcs feet. The
resulting group of Orcs standing around the ball going "lokee ballee" caused the
Ghosts some concerns for 2 turns, until the ball bounced free. The Ghost thrower
pop'd in and passed a long pass to a linemen who was open in goal. Had he caught
it, it would have been a great play. The ball dropped at his feet in goal. The
Orcs seeing an Opportunity for crowd assistance, blitzed the poor linemen in
goal, but tripped and fell before he could hit him (GFI to blitz, No RR). The
Ghost thrower with sure hands now ran up to pick up the ball and score, but
dribbled it into touch (failed 2x+3 rolls). The ball then got thrown around the
ground until it finally landed half way into the Orc half. This saw "Nailer"
Dodge away from the LOS ,to GFI, too pick up the ball, to Long bomb on a +6, but
fumble the ball, to end the game.
27,000 fans, 2-0 TD to Orcs, 2-1 CAS to Orc
In a side note, late in the second half, while no one was looking, "Tiny", a
Black orc Blitzer, got his first CAS in 12 games, then got the Orc MVP, showing
even Orc's can recognize raw BB talent.
The Orc coach looked at the 10 Ghosts players still on the field at the end of
the game and lamented " Oh God this will mean more Kids at the next match...
Nailer, next week no more flashing your privates at the crowd, just keep it on
the field"
