Welcome fans of the putrid and other stuff to a more accurate report of games
played in Week 12: Written by participants for the most part! Yeah!
Over the weekend, at the infamous Kohimarama Ty o Drwg, the innocent lizards
entered the rats' nest. A crowd of 23k saw a true drubbing, as the lizards fell
all over themselves, and the rats pummeled them on and off the pitch. Score 3-0
and cas a pretty hefty 6-3, all in favour of Chasing Dragons over the Atexs.
At the Empire, Dracs and Dames finally got their act together, the vamps even
remembering they had hypnotic gaze. Their cause was helped in no small part by
yet another downpour, a slippery ball, and treacherous ground. Dracs got the
kick, scored quickly. Humans couldn't pick up the ball. Dracs got it, and
another score. Humans couldn't pass the ball, even when weather cleared: Dracs
gathered it up, scored again. Same again, but dracs missed the score. Final
3-0 dracs. Cas tho, was 5-2 in favour of the humans, but the thrall, Plain
Sorority Sister got a kill. Crowd 24k.
Meanwhile, PVC played the league leading Auckland Worriers (but watch out for
the rats!), again in rain and hail, throughout the game. Ball was slippery, and
players said it was like playing on ice. Elves got the kickoff, and got the
ball to their annoying St4 catcher, but it was all downhill for the arrogant
ones from then on. The rest of the drive was a muddy, treacherous maul, with
picking up, dropping, falling by all and Sundry (what Sundry was doing on the
field was questioned after the game). Both sides were handbagging it for the
half. Second half, orcs and actually picked up the ball. Meanwhile, the pretty
elf Budweiser Babe kept a couple of the elves involved in a threesome throughout
the second half- league is questioning the integrity of the nursing staff. And
so the orcs scored their usual, dreary TD. Score 1-0 Cas 4-0 orcs. Crowd 25k.
A drier day saw the Jacksonburg Jags take on the always fearsome Chaos Pact
whatever-they-are-this-weeks, in front of 20k. The pact started off with
chaotic impact, smashing any human in sight. Unfortunately, they got bored
doing this, and so scored midway through the half. A mistake, as the ace human
thrower Ludwig Beethoven threw a patented long pass to a blitzer to score before
the half ended. Humans received the ball and yet another pummeling, but held on
to the ball long enough for Ludwig to send another of his bombs to the elite
Simon Ganner, who danced into the endzone for what proved the winning score.
Chaos simply could not get enough humans injured, despite their fierce
battering. And a final blitz by humans finished them. Score 2-1 Cas 3-2 both
humans.
Finally, Chaos Street played Jacksonborg Blvd in a moderately well attended
game, 150. As the game started, the Tavern opened its doors, and the human ogre
took the opportunity to have a beer or 20, missing out on the rest of the game.
A serious loss for the rookie humans. The valiant squashies took all sorts of
odds-against attacks, but could make little headway vs the crunching chaos. 1-0
3-0 cas in favour of Chaos Street.
After game discussion centred around whether the 5St Feral Vamp should take up
the offer from a shadowdy, dubious figure, to become 6St. What do you think?
