"Did you wish to speak with me father," Alyanna asked, breathlessly. When her
half sister Mina had told her her father wished to speak with her at once she
had
run all the way from the stream.

Alyanna was surprised to find  Gertrude with her father.  Her stepmother
usually spent her days in town, at the shops.  She did not like the way Gertrude
was smiling at her.  It was a menacing smile.

"Yes, Alyanna," her father said, "your mother and I-"
'STEP-mother' Alyanna silently corrected her father.
"-have been talking.  We have decided that now that you are 16 it is time for
you
to find a husband."

"Yes, Alyanna," her stepmother cooed, "we feel its time for you to start your
own
family."

Alyanna was speechless. MARRIED?  Alyanna had no doubt that this was all
Gertrude's idea. She had resented Alyanna's prescense ever since she married
Alyanna's father ten years ago.  And the resentment only grew when she had
Mina and Roma (Alyanna's half sisters), feeling that Galin paid more attention
to
Alyanna.

"Alyanna has a cousin who has agreed to marry you," Galin continued,"you
remember Trebor."

"Trebor??" Alyanna gasped, "but he's so old and so..."
Alyanna remembered with disgust the way he had ogled her so lewdly the last time
she had seen him three years ago.

"Now, Alyanna," Gertrude said, frowning at her, "Trebor will take good care of
you!"

"NO!" Alyanna shouted, "I am not ready to get married! Let alone getting married
to that man! I want to have fun and adventure before I get married!"

Without warning and before she could think twice she whirled and raced out of
the
room. She would not marry that man!! She would die if she married that man!  She
brushed past Mina (who had been evesdropping at the door) and raced out of the
house
running as fast as she could.

She did not know how long she ran but when she was out of breath she stopped and
hid behind a bush.  She sank to her knees behind the bush and began to gasp and
sob.  Whatever would she do? she would NOT marry Trebor, that much was
certain.

And then a new and brilliant idea came to her. She would run away!  Run away and
find adventure and excitement!! How exciting!  She would go now. She did not
need
to return to her father's house to get clothing. In Xanth everything she could
possibly need grew on the trees and plants.

"Oh I hope I meet some fun and exciting and nice people!" she said to herself.

Standing to her feet she set off walking down the path.

Well,  I had originally had WorldofXanth@onelist.com but when we decided
to roleplay I set up WorldofXanthRPG. I am having a hard time getting
started roleplaying, someting always seems to come up preventing me from
doing so, but I swear everyone that I am going to start roleplaying! I feel like
it will only take one person writing in and pretty soon this list will be
hopping!

created a duplicate of Com and one of myself, which has chaotic (ack

U know what would be cool would be to have a webpage
devoted to it, you know, to keep the characters straight
and all, little descriptions, updates etc etc...I'd be willing
to work on it...I'm not too too fancy with the htmls but I
am pretty good I guess.  Well, its a thought.  It might
inspire everyone and who knows, it might bring in more
people! (as the moderator of this list this particularly
appeals to me *G*)

Awhile back when I was trying to get a roleplay going
I created a seperate mailing list for this purpose,
however I will leave it up to you guys as to whether we
roleplay AND email on the same lists (which might get
a bit confusing) or have two lists. Ahhhhh, wait scratch
all that, I see that people have joined it so that must mean
they want the separate list.

Okay, folks, sorry for the dithering..I'll get it straight
one day :-)

I am interested in doing the RPG. My character is a human/harpy cross breed. His
name is Niman andI look like an average human except it has avian feature from
the waist down (ie feathers and bird legs). From the waist up, I have a medium
build, with white wings that span my arm length. I have medium length dark browm
hair and hazel eyes. He is 20 years old and came into existence due to a love
spring accident between my father and a female harpy. Nuff said on that. Anyway
since then I have been searching for my parents.My talent is Duplicating
objects, although if i duplicate something animate the duplicate will not have
the originals memories. My talent does have its limits.

This'll be the character I will use for the Role playing. Thanks.
