Good to hear from you again
Any wishing to study Wasteland Lore would be well served spending some time in the company of Master Callowfield or Malvess. Their knowledge is most extensive.

Indeed in the past Master Callowfield clarified some research material based on discussions with Malvess and the knowledge gained by the Fractured Path .
Kingdom: a Realm with a warden
who is aware of his job and actively
performing it.
Duchy: a realm without a warden performing their task -a
warden is present but they are acting only very passively, and are unaware of
their role.
Commune -a real m with more than one warden.
Principality- a Realm formed from the wasteland by the act
of will of an individual.
Syndicate - a number of Realms so close together one can
step from one to another without crossing the wasteland.
Choke - a Realm in that one must travel through to reach
other Realms –the Valley is a Choke.
Sovereign, the artificial creations made to house the former
rulers or aspirants to the throne of England
Oasis - a Realm maintained by some sort of 'spiritual'
presence, usually one appeased by regular ceremony.
Museum -a realm maintained only by a Realm Artefact
performing it.

To this I believe we can add Archipeligo , although there could be some debate as to whether this is merely a type of Syndicate , I suspect not possessing from what i have heard sufficient unique qualities to justify individual classification.
As for the Cooper effect, an affectionate term based on my early unfortunate confused travails in the Wasteland . For those who do not know Scribe and Doctor Masters , assisted by Brother Oliver at=2 0St Mary of Beth
lehem Hospital spent some time recently attempting to assist one Piers Tolson . Piers Tolson was one of the earlier Wastelanders, and a relatively potent one who is known to the early Wasteland explorers such as Callowfield, The Spaniard and Gwydion. He has suffered from over long absence from his home realm, played out to the point that his mind and body are now broken and any vitality or faculty he might once have had has fled consumed by the depths of the wastes despair. I believe the common parlance has become Wasteland Sickness. If one wishes to see the effects first hand then perhaps a visit to St Mary’s whilst lending some comfort to the patients would be of benefit.

So, as we were talkin it turns out some folk in the commission don't know the name o the Cooper20effect an that there are Realms, Principalities, an other things out there.
I thought I'd try ta help a little, an then folk who know much better than me can tell us why I'm wrong an what is right.
First off these things were written by Master Faffyn, who worked out a lot o things. They might help too.

So then: Realms an stuff...
What we have in London is a Realm.
It's a place that's never been in the Wasteland.
There's a Realm Warden, a man who is the focus o the Realm.
If a Realm Warden dies then someone else gets the job, if there's someone around who can. The new person's not going ta be as good at the job as the old person, cos it always goes to the best person first. So a Realm Warden dying is a bad thing for the Realm.
If there's no one le ft who can take over being Warden the Realm falls in to the Wasteland.
A Warden does not have to be a person.
I've seen places where it's a Tree, a Spirit, an Undead thing...
Prinicipalities seem ta be places that have been brought back out o the wasteland by the sheer determination o one person. That person - The Prince - makes a place Real. What=2 0is in a Principality is what that person thinks should be there. So it can be made up stuff that the person likes (or, if he's kinda crazy like, scarry things from his nightmares).
Some Realms, an some Principalities, have bits o Wasteland inside o them. Kinda like a land can be all split up by rivers but still be the same place or a bunch o islands can be a kingdom.
Every Wastelander has a place that is their home - we have London.
When they travel through the Wastes something odd happens ta Wastelanders. The longer they are away, and the more they have been away in the past, the worse it gets & the quicker it hits.
If a Wastelander is in a Realm which is a big, open, place that helps, an they suffer less an latter than if they are in a small Realm or one that's all closed in. This weirdness we called the Cooper Effect. It starts off with a Wastelander feeling a bit homesick. Then they get all ill and queesy. This gets worse over time.
We've been told that if allowed to carry on the Wastelander ends up getting sick in the head an goes crazy.
Some folk ha said that in a Principality Wastelanders don't start to feel the Cooper Effect until they get out into the Wasteland.
I think that's kinda it.
