You can get invites and be useful without all the avatars at level 21.  In fact, avatars cost a lot of MP compared to your max MP at level 21.

 

I didn’t finally get all the basic avatars until I was in my late 50s as a SMN.

Thank you for your comments. I do understand that long term members of FFXI dont appreciate those of us that try to short cut the system. I did however hear that the lev 75rdm / nin could solo these so I was not sure that all who had the avatars did not get them in this means. Just to set your mind at easy I did fight Shiva about 5 times to no avail yet :-(   I also not sure if I would get into parties as a lev 21 SMN if I did not have the avatars. Thanks for the suggestions I appreciate them. I have all the job classes other than NIN which I usually received High lev help from my linkshell on some of them. I look forward to assisting all of you in the future whenever I can. If anyone is looking for a fun social linkshell let me know. "LordsofNeverwinter" is constantly growing. At your level the best way to get your basic Avatars is through the level 20 mini-fork fights.  The prime fights require a full party of level 65 or above.  Even a full party of 72+ can result in death during an Avatar’s 2-hr (as happened to me night before last while fighting Ifrit for a friend). I know a 75RDM/NIN and 75RDM/BLM can duo all the Avatars,  as I was the 75RDM/BLM (its how I got my whispers for Fenrir).

 

I do know Fireblade runs a service for the offering, Carbuncle Mitts, Fenrir, and basic Avatars.  While it costs gil, you can sit back and watch the fight.  Again my suggestion is to experience the game itself by doing the fights yourself (or with a party of your peers).

 

When you’re character is of a more appropriate level, I’d be happy to be part of a party fighting the Prime Avatars with you.

I would like some help in getting my avatars if anyone is interested. I have a lev 21 SMN that I am currently using for a sub to my lev 33 RDM that I plan in leving a great deal soon. I also got my SAM yesterday :-). I only need NIN now. I hope to help out a great deal in the future but I am still kind of low. Look for me on the battle field . LOL
