The cabbit cuddled up against her, calming down quickly at her touch.
"Myao! Myao!" It almost seemed to begin to purr.

Washu blinked, then dashed back to the controls and jabbed the button
to drain the plug and end the experiment. She frantically examined
the recorded data for a second, then took a deep breath to calm
herself. "The data that matters is intact." Her face appeared on
the vidscreen to signal activation of the video pickup, then scowled.
"Chi-ohki! What did I tell you about trying to take naps in
equipment that I'm using?"
"Myao!" Chi-ohki stuck his tongue out at the screen.
"Just because your mom does it is no excuse! I'm trying to break her
of the habit too!"

Nanami's eyes widened in shock. She had been sure that the plug had been
empty when she got into it... Clearly, she must have been mistaken, though
- after all, it wasn't as though the animal could just walk through walls!
At least, not without the proper equipment... Hmm... She filed away the
thought for later. A device for walking through walls would be very
interesting indeed.
Nanami's eyes softened with mirth, as she watched the critter struggling
in the breathable liquid. "Aw, don't worry, little fella," she cooed,
reaching out to gather the creature to herself. It was a bit of a risk -
panicked as the creature seemed to be, there was a chance that it would
try to bite or scratch her. Nanami was pretty sure that the suit she was
wearing would hold up against that just fine, however. "There's nothing in
her that can hurt you - at least, if you breathe the same things that I
do."
The creature seemed to understand her words, oddly, and didn't resist her
when she placed it in her lap and began smoothing down the ruffled and
sodden fur. "Little Washu," Nanami called, hoping that the scientist
monitoring her would be able to hear. "There's a small, furry creature in
here with me. Is that going to affect the experiment?"

Tiffany gave a firm nod of her head to Yo. "Yes! Of course I
can. If you're by my side, we can deal with any challenge that might
come along."
Tiffany then wrapped her arms around Yo and hugged her tightly.
Kiki raised and eyebrow with that.
"Hmm... Interesting..." Kiki said as she nodded her head in
understanding. Kiki then looked at Tiffany once again.
"Excuse me, Diggers-san, would you please give me and Yo a
moment o privacy? I have something I would like to ask him."
Tiffany looked at Kiki. Tiff sighed and looked at Yo. "Okay
you two, but hurry up please. I'd like to see more of this place."
So saying, Tiffany then left the area to give Kiki and Yo a moment of
privacy.
Kiki looked at Yo, waiting for her to see calm, she was
obviously annoyed with her, asking Tiffany to leave.
Kiki then looked at Yo seriously. "Yo-kun..." She began. "I
have nothing against your choice, but... Do you know anything about
the 'red string'?"

Itto nods, "Sorry, I'm on a date now. Challenges can wait till its
over. Besides, I don't really need to prove myself to weaklings
like you. My father destroyed your father in their climactic
battle. Get over yourself." She sighs, "On the other hand I really
like duels alot." She looks at Adako, "If I beat him up real fast
would it be ok?"
OOC: Thanks for the offer but I have all the special moves of every
character memorized in japanese and I speak japanese so I can
translate them myself.
Name: Chi-ohki
Father: Ken-ohki (suspected)
Mother: Ryo-ohki
Age: 15 (human equivalent; chronological age uncertain)
Race: Cabbit, male self-identity, immune to Virus
Skills: Intense technical training under Washu Hakubi, limited
transformation abilities (much easier to become a shape he already
knows than to assume a new shape) with powers ranging up to a small
starship (default/"true" shape is a cabbit), limited empathic
abilities (can usually sense emotions and causes of distress,
especially - and at a distance - in anyone he knows well), can phase
through most objects with concentration
Love Interests: None yet, but cabbits are designed to find someone and
bond with them unquestioningly for life (theirs or their partner's)
Description: Outside of humanoid form, can only speak by "Myao"ing,
though he can certainly understand human speech, not to mention read
and (if possessed of appropriate appendages and instruments) write.
Has the cabbit racial appetite for carrots, though more under control
than his mom.
* As cabbit - mostly rabbit body with some feline features (notably on
the face and in the voice); brown furred with patches of white and black
in no particular pattern.
* As humanoid - furred, feline face (think catboy, but with normal
ears), with a shoulder-length mop of mixed white and black hair that
looks grey from a distance. Form includes clothing (technically part of
the skin, but only a detailed medical examination, attempts to remove or
tear clothes, or the like will reveal this) which is slightly
adjustable, but new clothes are almost a new form; thus, almost always
in something that could pass for a school uniform. In emulation of
Washu, has both child (10 year old) and adult (18 year old) forms.
* As starship (unlikely to see much use in this game) - a hollow ball
with life support for anyone he's carrying, surrounded by brownish
crystalline spikes jutting out in all directions.
History: Although Ryo-ohki is not saying anything, and even Ryoko will
neither confirm nor deny that she can get the details from Ryo-ohki, it
is suspected that Chi-ohki was conceived when Ken-ohki broke quarantine
(leaving his potentially vulnerable partner behind for a bit) for a
visit with Ryo-ohki. Chi-ohki was hatched and given lots of loving
attention by Sasami, and for a while, it seemed that he would become her
cabbit. But the bond never materialized for some reason, which even
Washu is a bit perplexed by, though she feels there is a good enough
chance that the reason has something to do with Tsunami that she would
rather not experiment and find out.
Growing up on Earth, Chi-ohki has been enmeshed in human culture to a
degree none of his alien housemates have been. Tenchi and his
grandfather have both suggested that Chi-ohki be allowed to attend
school, more for the socialization than for the academics (which a few
years as Washu's part-time assistant more than covered). As Chi-ohki
enters the game, Washu finally relents, if only because she knows of
just the school to send him to.
Personality: Curious. He has only rarely been beyond the Masaki
shrine, and is eager to sample and learn what he could not before,
especially to make new friends as Sasami repeatedly encouraged him to
do. Not completely naive, thanks to a "birds and bees" talk from
Ryoko (of all people), but still trusting to a degree that could well
land him in trouble.

Just then, a wet, furry brown lump floated up in front of her, trying

could not feel its mind, probably because it was not wearing a plugsuit,

"You read Shojo-manga, Satsuma-san? Cool! I'd think you might

Tiffany bowed to Kiki. "It is a pleasure to meet you Satsuma-
san. I hope the day sees you well." Tiffany then righter herself,
up. Tiffany couldn't help but notice that Kiki stared at her hand,
even though Tiffany wasn't wearing a ring.

Tiffany blinked and looked over at Yo, who had a light blush on
her face. Tiffany smiled faintly and shook her head.
"No Satsuma-san. Yo didn't throw herself all over me. It was
kind of the opposite really... It started out with Yo asking me out
in a gentleman fashion, and then I was all over her."
Tiffany looked around the place. "Do you work here by yourself
Satsuma-san?"

Itto smiles brightly and thinks to herself, ~Wow! This is the best
date ever! I loathe the undead.~ She has large amounts of zombie
slime on her dress and hands but she is so incredibly gorgeous its
not unattractive. Still, she isn't able to celebrate her victory.
She senses a powerful presence and whirls to see Thyme at the moment
he speaks. "Adako-san and I are on a date," she says in a friendly
manner, "But the restaurant was overrun with the forces of the

*Nods* That could be a good explanation. It was also pointed out to me
that you had originally suggested that we'd be using Washu's equipment to
establish the link, so direct contact doesn't even need to be involved,
unless we want it to. I have no other objections.
As for potential lovers - well, Nanami doesn't even see Aki as a
potential lover right now. Nanami has no concept of what it means to be a
lover. She's completely naive on the topic - ridiculously naive, in fact.
She doesn't understand the emotions involved, she has no idea of what the
physical act of lovemaking is, or how it works. Up until now, the only
concept that she's had of attraction is that some people make her feel
funny inside, and a lot of people seem to mob her for no good reason when
she's in male form. ^_^
I will warn you, though, that Nanami is heterosexual, even if she doesn't
know what that means, and usually only feels that "funny feeling" around
born-males. So, she probably won't feel romantically attracted to Alaru
for a long, long time, if she ever does.
Of course, Alaru doesn't necessarily know any of that, so she's free to
try. ^_^V

Alaru has never touched Nanami skin-to-skin before. She's got a special
field around her that that she can turn on and off that prevents anything
but air from coming into contact with her skin. Also Alaru doesn't like to
be touching people , unless they're her very close friends or lovers. She
has a telepathic/empathic talent that she can use at a distance , however
like mr. spock on star trek she has the problem of the powers activating on
their own if someone touches her. She doesn't like having other people's
memories/emotions shoved into her so she rarely touches anyone , unless
they're her very close friends or lovers. Nanami and Alaru are close friends
and she has been thinking about letting nanami touch her. She also sees in
nanami a potential lover but doesn't know if nanami would feel the same or
not now.

Alaru doesn't have her soul (it was destroyed by dracula) but she does have
her ki. Every living thing has ki , the planet has ki , the animals have ki
, the everything that's alive has ki. Alaru might be 1/4 vampire but she is
still alive. You don't have to have a soul to have ki.

"Kiki-san?" Yo asked, "we can go see if she is free now." How
to explain Kiki? "Kiki-san replaced Kaede-chan when her arthritis got too
bad. She is supposed to be from my biological mother's clan. We
have worked together before, but never was especially friendly. I do
not know if she is just cynical, finds my ancestry hard to deal with,
or is too aware of her samurai heritage."
Yo shook her head. "That makes her sound stuck up or
something. She is not mean, but she never reached out to me,
Mom, or Dad. I guess she is like someone you see at work or
school every day, and talk with when around them, but never
see socially."
Yo lead Tiffany through the tori arching over the path
to the main shrine. From the lack of presence, Yo knew
Kiki was not meditating, but she might be pretending to
meditate. It would be an excellent way to avoid contact
if she wanted to avoid insulting Tiffany. To her surprise,
Kiki was sweeping the flagstones that paved the yard
in front of her shrine.
Kiki wore the traditional Shinto garb of miko, similar
to Yo's outfit. Her long black hair was bound behind her,
wrapped several times with a cloth band that ended in a
knot. She was of average height for the time, and so stood
shorter than modern women.
"Kiki-san, I would like you to meet Tiffany
Diggers. Tiffany-chan, this is Kiki Satsuma,"
Yo introduced the two, unsure of how Kiki would respond.
She was fairly sure Kiki could not see the red string that
still linked the two of them, but Yo hadn't seen anything
like it before today, either.
Kiki bowed to Tiffany. "It is good to meet you
Diggers-san," she said formally, "Yo-kun has had
no previous chance to befriend anyone like you. I am
sure he threw himself into the relationship with all the
enthusiasm and speed that had been restrained for
so long."

I really hate to be a let-down, Kaydee - but Alaru's known Nanami for a
long time, right? Nanami only needs to touch a machine to bond with it,
and I assume that she's touched Alaru in the past. So, she probably can't
bond with Nene.
Of course, depending on what Alaru wears, maybe Nanami HASN'T touched
Alaru in the past. As long as there isn't skin-to-skin contact, nothing
could have happened - it works a bit like Rogue's powers on X-Men, if
you're familiar with her. If Nanami has only touched Alaru's clothes, then
nothing has happened. I'll let you decide whether it's reasonable to
assume that they've never touched before.
There's another problem, though... L-kun and R-kun allowed Nanami's and
Aki's souls to bond - but Alaru doesn't have a soul, right? What's there
to bond with? Actually, I've been curious about this, anyway - if Alaru
doesn't have a soul, then what does she have? Just her mind and memories?
Nanami might be able to bond with that, but the link probably wouldn't be
as intimate as the one she shares with Aki.
On the subject of cabbits, I seriously doubt that they are affected by
the Virus. Even Ryoko wasn't affected, and she's a lot more human than
Ryo-ohki is - not to mention, her half-sister, besides. I'm sure that if
Ryo-ohki tried, though, she could take on a male form anytime she wanted
to. She is composed largely of Mass, after all, and they can take pretty
much any form they desire (or, rather, that a strong enough will nearby
desires).
On the other hand, as long as we don't let it get out of control, we can
always add another species to the affected list. Sort of like how some
diseases target one species, but can also affect another.

Umm...you misunderstood the answer, so I'll say again: "That which might

It's the mechanics of the link that'll be formed that you've gotta worry

Well Alaru does have an organic type AI named Nene bonded with her and Nene
can hack into most electronic ... anything. And Alaru does have
telepathic/empathic powers. The two of them working together (which they can
do quite well ever since dracula destroyed alaru's soul nene has become her
soul and the two are linked very closely now) can get into
anywhere/anything. Alaru would probably ask permission first. She does feel
an attraction to Aki and Nanami and would want in on the link.

Tiffany furrowed her eyebrows. She then sighed audibly.
"Yeah..." Tiffany began.. "It might be hard. I think mom and
dad will want me to have a large-scale wedding."
A smile then krept uo Tiffany's face.
"Still... I think I could talk them into having it here.
Though I admit Yo, it would be hard to get them here... I have quite

Asaito nodded her head. She then turned to look at Yo.

(OOC Note: Not sure what store curtains are called...)
Tiffany then turned to Yo and patted Yo on her shoulder.
"Hey Yo..." Tiffany began. "While we wait, how about meeting

Tiffany then blushed in embarassment for not remembering the
person's name.

"Uh," Yo said, unsure if the conversation's increasing focus
upon their marriage made her uncomfortably nervous or just giddy. It
certainly made her tail want to twitch. The price was fairer than
most. A wedding kimono was an expensive item (although far cheaper
now than in the future) and Asaito would gain prestige if Yo married
Tiffany with one of them wearing her kimono. (Yo was not sure if she
wanted to be the groom or the bride yet. It might depend on whose
family paid for the wedding.) That would require the wedding to be in
this time, in the Shinto style. Not that Yo had any problem with that
. . .
"I think that, should we get so far, if you want that if you
want the ceremony to be here, in the Shinto style, that I can think of
no greater person to turn to for a wedding kimono than Asaito-san.
But I understand if you need to check with your family first," Yo
said, mading sure to allow Tiffany a way to reject the requirements
without rejecting Asaito.

As Adako and Itto were dealing with the Zombies in Bennigans Prince
Thyme of the Musk arrived at the restaurant
looking forward to his meal in Japan. But what he saw as he entered
left him temporally stunned as only once
before had he seen a Zombie and that had been five years a go when he
and his friends had helped his fathers army
destroy a minor vampire lord that had tried to take over an area near
Jusenkyo.
Shaking off his surprise Thyme prepared blast any Zombie that looked
like it might attack him. Hearing Itto
announce her Ki blast he turned his head just in time to see Adako
destroy the small globe that appeared and the
zombies vanish. ÒWhat in the name of the Sheng Long is going on
here!Ó He yelled.

Depends. Is there mechanism for linking her in? Can Alaru talk Washu
into it (or get into the mechanism without permission)? That which
might stop Alaru is IC, not OOC...

I was just wondering if there's going to be a link formed between Aki and

Tiffany's eyes twinkled with that. "A wedding kimono?
Ooooooh... That would be nice... But I think dad would have a heart
attack, me getting married before he gets to meet his son-in-law."
Then, because she felt like it, Tiffany started hugging Yo again.

Tiffany stared wide-eyed at the silk. "Wow... That's
gorgeous! I love it!" Tiffany began jumping up and down, from a
mixture of being excited, and naturally having too much energy.
Tiffany then stopped her little joyous dance and looked at
Asaito. "Thank you Asaito-san. The color would suit me perfectly.
How much do I owe you? Or more precisely, how much would Yo owe
you?" Tiffany then started blushing. "I'd pay, but I don't have any
of the local currency."
"Oh, that's quite allright child." Asaito began. "As for
payment, I don't want money... I DO however, want to be told when
the wedding is going to be. I would like to make the bridal kimono."
Tiffany smiled at her, then turned to Yo. "What do you think
Yo?"

Adako blinked as she saw the small globe appear
where the demon zombie had stood before Itto's attack.
Then she charged and speared the orb with her sword.
As expected the zombies about vanished without so much
as a stale odor remaining.
"Dad fought one of those when she was my age,"
Adako said. "Everything was an solid illusion, part
of it....funny Dad said it wasn't a demon that
bothered our world usually...she fought doing a favor
for some dragon prince or something in the kami plane."

Okay, I'm back, now! Actually, I've been back since last night, but with
over a hundred e-mails waiting for me, it's taken me a while to catch up.
^_^;;
Red thread, between Nanami and Aki? Quite possibly, though Nanami would
have no idea of its significance - even if she understands on a level that
most can only dream of.
Nanami/Aki subplot sweet and cool? ^_^ Glad you're enjoying it.
*IC*
Nanami relaxed and sighed into the strange liquid surrounding and filling
her. Idly, she polled the sensors on her outfit. "95.4%?" she thought. "I
wonder if that's good. Hmmm... This is all so very relaxing... Even if it
does taste a bit like blood. I wonder if Washu intends this device for
some kind of spa? I've heard that she invents incredibly complex but
frivolous things from time to time."
The sensations she was receiving from her neurotransmitters were
particularly perplexing. It felt almost the way that it did when she
linked with L-kun or R-kun - except instead of another intelligence, it
was as if she was linking with... nothing. A blank emptiness. It was all
very strange.
Nanami wondered how much longer it would be until Washu had obtained the
results she desired. The scenery wasn't much to speak of - the viewscreen
in front of her (it WAS a viewscreen, Nanami was certain, even though she
couldn't touch it to find out for sure) was not on, so the interior of the
room was simply white, though muted slightly orange-brown by the color of
the liquid filling it. A constant drone permeated the liquid, but, far
from being annoying, it was quite soothing. Nanami yawned, and giggled
once again at the odd sensations of liquid rushing into and out of her
lungs without drowning her. The whole experience was just so novel - and
her visit to Washu's lab had just begun!

Yo laughed nervously. Perhaps she should not force this
sexual openness. More practice receiving it might be called for.
"Asaito-san," Yo called out, "How long would it take to make
a full formal kimono for Tiffany-chan?"
A middle aged woman walked out of the nearer shop
and looked Tiffany over. "For you, Yo," she said, "I can have
a wedding kimono done in two weeks."
Yo held up her hands, waving negation. "No, no, nothing
like that," Yo protested weakly, "Tiffany-chan needs something
formal, not matrimonial." Asaito chuckled. "She was thinking
something in red-violet silk?" Yo hazarded nervously.
The woman circled Tiffany, then began to run her hands
over the werecheetah, measuring various distances against her
own body. When finished, Asaito rummaged back behind her
counter, then pulled out a bolt of cloth. The silk was vibrant
with the violet dye, the red content varying slightly with each
thread. Various bird patterns had been stitched in the cloth
at regular intervals.
"Will this do?" the shopkeeper asked.
