What is Virtual PSA? In October of 2001, Michael Driggs was looking to start a virtual airline, to bring together a group of people that enjoyed flying and wanted to have fun with their common interest. He decided to base his virtual airline on the real-life PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines). He went to a message board and posted an announcement about the new virtual airline and got his first enlistee. By the next month, Virtual PSA was off the ground with several pilots, a web site, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
What is PSA? The real PSA operated a variety of aircraft from 1949 until they were acquired by USAir in 1988. Their planes were easily recognized in the 70's and 80's with the colorful paint schemes and the smiles painted on the fronts, and they had a reputation for being an extremely friendly and affordable airline. Stewardesses were encouraged to give attention to the passengers, chat with them, and make them feel like part of the PSA family.
We hope you find this information useful or enjoyable. Please feel free to contribute or ask questions. It's been a pleasure flying with you!
