lack of response from me didn't keep you away...

(friend from Boston passed through town while I was at
the hospital with Amy...)

All - We had a baby girl, Katherine Isabel (we call
her Katie), born 18 April at 9:51pm, 8lbs, 3.5 oz I

I don't like to mob people with announcements, but
this one couldn't wait... White Wolf had a press
release today, that I'm passing on to you. I'm once
again giddy with excitement for our little game!
Every Camarilla clan is getting its own pre-con deck,
BTW. Read on, and tell all your friends...

WHITE WOLF ANNOUNCES 'VAMPIRE: THE ETERNAL STRUGGLE -
CAMARILLA EDITION

ATLANTA, Ga. - White Wolf announces the August 2002
release of The
Camarilla Edition, the new base set for the Vampire:
The Eternal Struggle
card game. Vampire: The Eternal Struggle charted in
the top ten card games
in Comics & Games Retailer in April 2001.

"More than just an expansion, The Camarilla Edition
will be a new
stand-alone edition of the base set," said project
coordinator Steve Wieck.
"This set is the fourth to be released by White Wolf
for Vampire: The
Eternal Struggle."

The Camarilla Edition features over 300 cards
available in booster
assortments from which players will be able to get all
the cards they need
to play. The set includes 100 new vampires (all of
which can be found in
the boosters) and several new library cards. In
addition, six
pre-constructed decks will also be released so that
players can get started
quickly. The Gangrel are not a part of this set, but
they will be
prominently featured in the subsequent expansion, The
Anarchs.

Vampire: The Eternal Struggle fans throughout the
world lauded the return
of their favorite card game in October 2000 when
Sabbat War marked the
first new release since 1996. Sabbat War has since
sold through two entire
print runs, and the subsequent Final Nights expansion
has nearly sold out
its initial print run as well.

Look for Bloodlines in stores now and The Camarilla
Edition in August 2002.
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle's Final Nights is
available in limited
quantities through some distributors and retail
outlets.

To All,
Kirk C. kind of mis-interpreted my request for having a gmaing
session at Skirmishes as a desire for a tourney. I'm kind of a go
with the flow sorta guy, so I thought we'd do some form of mini-
tourney for local players. Any thoughts as to a format you'd like to
see? I'd personally like something a little lower key than just the
standard constructed. Anyone care to try a draft format?

We can finalize it with whoever shows up, but I'd like some
feedback ahead of time, too. I'll also advertise it as a demo day...

Also, I've applied for sanctioning and prize support for a VTES
tournament to be held RIGHT HERE IN CHARLOTTE on Saturday, June 1st,
at what may turn into a permanent gaming convention for Charlotte,
ConCarolinas!!! Yep. We're gonna have our own, real live Sci-
fi/fantasy gaming con right here. I'd like as many of you as
possible to come out to support this con's inaugural year. It won't
be chock full of stuff to do, since this is a fundraising year, but
if we do halfway okay, it'll secure us for future, bigger and better
events.

On with the details of the tournament:

VTES Tournament (and Demo) at ConCarolinas
When: Saturday, June 1st 10am to 7pm
(registration at 10 am, first round starts at 11am)
What: Standard constructed VTES tourney (3 rounds and a finals)
Entry Fee: $5 to $7 for a day pass to the Con.
Prize support to be provided by White Wolf
Where: Mariott Hotel on Tyvola Road (Exit 5 off of I-77)

Tell all your friends who want to get involved in V:TES (and also
those that don't) that I will be running demoes of the game
throughout the day on Saturday, and I'll be giving away Sabbat War
pre-con starters to new players!!! And I want to see a bunch of you
lurkers coming out to this bash! For those of you who haven't
attended a VTES tournament before, they are a blast. We get players
from all over the region who come into town _just_ for the post-
tourney party, which usually involves buffalo wings and beers :-)
Its a great time, and a very casual, friendly environment. A true
breath of fresh air, as far a competitive gaming goes :-) So there
you have it. Plenty of advance notice, a good local cause to
support, and good friends to enjoy the time with. Thanks, all and I
hope to see you there.

Last night at Borders...

First game

Jose -- Baali/Setties
Ken -- Tzimisce
Egotha -- Torrance Blood Brothers - 1 VP
Jordan -- !Nosferatu combat deck - 2 VP

!Nosferatu tried to enter combat with everyone, manuvering out to long range,
and then throwing sewer lids, cars, and gates at them. It worked at first,
sending Lambach and Mark to torpor. Midway through, the Blood Brothers caught
on and started to block the Bum's Rush and Ambushes to eliminate the
manuvear, and the Fake Outs were nowhere to be seen. A Blood Doll, Taste of
Vitae and Shanty Town HG kept the !Nosferatu alive, and helped finished off
the Brothers and then the Tziimisce that the Brothers helped beat up.

Second game*

Jose - Protean/Dominate multi-clan deck - 1 VP
Ken - Assamites
Egotha - Torrance Blood Brothers
Jordan - Malkavian stealth-bleed - 1 VP

*2nd game ended early to end deadlock and start a new game after Lucian
Minion Tapped and Gilbert Dunne 5th Traditioned him 3 or 4 times to bulid up
a net gain of around 33,000 pool which the 3 or 4 Assamites roaming around
couldn't really bleed through. Plus the Madness Nework helped get the
Malkavians the edge for an extra pool each turn.

Disheartening momement for the Assamites after they put a contract on Lucian
and beat 6 or 7 blood off him in one combat only to see Gilbert Dunne fill
him back up to 10 again.

Third Game

Jose - Baali/Setties deck again
Ken - Lasombra - 2 or 3 VP (I can't remember)
Jordan - Malkavian stealth-bleed again
Jonas - !Nosferatu

Malkavians couldn't get going after their 24 stealth cards somehow all seemed
to disappear and were replaced my one Obedience after another. Roxanne,
GIlbert and Greger were all throughly beaten up by Lasombra members riding
sport bikes.

Forth Game

Jose - Salubri antitribu - 1 VP
Ken - Assamites
Jonas - Tzimisce
Jordan - Malkavian stealth-bleed (a third time) - 2 VP

Salubri and Tzimisce teamed up on Assamites sending their Methuselah to go
look at books. Malkavians used Night Moves, Govern the Unaligned and
Conditioning to end the night.

P.S.
I have Egotha's dice bag and a Bonecraft that belongs to Jonas. I'll bring
them next Thursday.

Anyone wanting to have their VTES deck reviewed, and get suggestions
as to performance changes to make can send me a list of the current
deck make-up and your observations as to what is lacking. I'll be
happy to offer any suggestions as to what changes might help.

Also, next week, I'll have my commons overstock box along. If you
are looking for a few freebies to help out your decks, I'll let you
all graze a few out of the box. (There aren't many Blood Dolls, no
Minion Taps, no Wakes... sorry, but I traded a bunch of mine away a
long time ago)

Tenatively, I'm going to make a call and say that the Second Sunday
of each month will be our monthly Sunday game at Skirmishes. So for
the next two months, those dates are: 14 April 02, and 12 May 02.
They will be up on the VTES Charlotte calendar shortly.

Sounds like you guys need The Guild... John, I'm sure you aren't yet
aware of this institiution, but the Guild is the "Gamer's Society" of
UNC-Charlotte, and serves as the co-ordinating body for most gaming
events happening in Charlotte, NC (even for those not enrolled at the
university). They meet weekly at UNCC to game on Fridays (board,
card and role games). They've a Yahoo Group, and are in a continuous
state of organizing games of all sorts... Including one-shot RPGs of
all flavors :-) You can check them out and post your time
availability/interests at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/UNCCGuild/

also look there for info on ConCarolina, a preliminary gaming and
scifi con to be held this July (I think) in Charlotte. Without a
doubt, we'll be having a VTES tourney there.

So, we have 5 people already interested in a Sunday monthly game...
Looks like it'll be happening :-) To get it off on the right foot,
we should pick a weekend where there are no conflicts with people's
personal schedule. Please email me any prior commitments in the
months of March and April by personal email (no need to spam the
list) to atomweaver@... and I'll pick a weekend that works for
everyone.

I can't remember who won the second four player game we had that night, but
in the third three player game, Ken was able to skillfully use his
girlfriend's Lasombra deck and bounce back for a 2 VP win after his first
three minions suffered through a Brainwash, a Pentex Subversion, and a Kiss

Well, here it is, our own little slice of the web...

I guess I'll point all of youse guys attention to the online calendar;

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VTES_Charlotte/cal

wherein I've put our most up to date info on the weekly gaming
session.
Yesterday was a lot of fun, with Jordan getting a table win in the
first, five player game, with 3 VP, using a low cap weenie horde with
guns deck. I, as his ineffectual predator, couldn't do anything to
him until he made his way around the table to me, and then I brought
the now-formidable power of the Ravnos to bear on the weaklings of
