A wonderful night at B2O tonight with 21 attendees!

Roll Call: Gene and Aaron <spelling on both probably off, my
apologies>, Phil, Constantine, Rich M, Terry M, Greg, Kelli, Vitas,
Nancy, Adam, Dave B, Terry E, Nick, Jake, Matt H, Tom, Craig, Richard
S, Ralph, and a person whose name I don't recall.

Games Played: Puerto Rico x3, Wyatt Earp, Royal Turf, Tricolor
Penrose x3?, Crokinole x 2?, Traumfabrik, San Marco, Frisch Fisch,
Twixt, Call My Bluff, Show Manager, Carcassonne, Taj Mahal, Chez
Dork, Icehouse Volcano. Feel free to add if I've missed any.

The night began with two side-by-side games of Puerto Rico. I was
grouped with Jake, Craig, Richard S, and Phil. Overall, I liked this
game. I hadn't been keeping up on all the buzz, but I knew most of it
had been pretty good. Jake ended up taking the win with 40 points,
with the rest of us very close with 38, 37, 36, 31. Definitely not
the same totals I heard floating around for the other games, where
some people were in the 50s and had 10-20 point spreads from first to
last. Definitely on my "to be played again soon" list, and I'll
probably end up buying it.

As my table of Puerto Rico was winding down several people who had
arrived after the the two games began were playing Wyatt Earp. Not
sure what was happening, but I think it was the first time I've ever
seen rules lawyers in a game of Earp. Maybe that's why Constantine
was so happy about his apparently rare win. ;>

After our Puerto Rico game broke up, Jake, Richard, Dave B, and I sat
down to a game of Frisch Fisch. This was my first playing and I
believe Dave's as well. In short, I liked this game quite a bit, it's
a shame it's so hard to find. I was doing well except for my nuclear
plant which ended up being 13 away by road, despite being next to the
outlet. (High numbers are BAD in this game) Dave B ended up taking
the win partially due to a mis-bid by Richard in the final auction.
(Or so Richard claims ;> )

Many other games were played, and I invite others to add their
comments. As for me, it's almost 3 am as I write this, and I should
sleep. Good night to all!

Brian
