"Now I shall send for Ieuan's man, to see if he recalls the floor plan
of the tower, and where the maid will likely be held. While we wait
for him to come, any further thoughts to improve our plan would be
appreciated. I think tomorrow night we'll make the gatehouse ours."

"Without more information on the layout and forces, clear recommendations are hard to make." Morien continues, "But a thought occurs that we ought to leave the bulk of our forces to safeguard the upper gate, so that we can be reinforced by the army outside, while a small group of picked knights rushes up the tower to secure the maiden's room. If most of the mercenaries are in the great hall or otherwise unable to reinforce the upper portions of the tower without using the stairs, we might wish to make that a chokepoint as well." He then shrugs. "But like I said earlier, it depends on the enemy forces as well as the layout of the castle."
Finally, he does deliver one suggestion more. "It might be worthwhile to consider attacking during the meal time? Depending how lax the mercenaries are, we might actually bar most of them into the great hall to be dealt with in leisure, while it might actually be expected for some of the guardsmen to go and get some food from the tower anyway, thus invoking no suspicion as we walk over the courtyard. Another thing to ask that young man, about routines and such."
Gwair listens intently to Sir Bege's comments and thoughts, and the responses of his collegues, "This sounds like a sound plan my friends. Sir, if you do indeed send a small group of knights up the tower as Morien sugests, I for one would be more than happy to volunteer for such a task. I am growing tired of watching and waiting - I like the idea too of attacking during meal time - not the most generous action I suppose, but then again, neither have they been generous to us..."
OOC: Finally on an even keel. Expect to post regularly now. Thanks
for your patience. Wife is doing well. Thanks.

OOC: Glad to hear things are on the mend - sorry for a long wait before my response. We have spent August moving, I I seem to have spent every hour getting covered in paint or shunting boxes from place to place. Managed to fit virtually no gaming in at all, other than my trip to the Continuum Convention where getting to play with Greg Stafford himself was the highlight by a long way :-)
