While I'm not available to join your group, I do have a question for you.
What version of the rules are you using and why is that your preference? I
played Fading Suns many years ago and we used one of the sets of rules from
the books and then also tried a 3d6 version, as well. I love the setting and
the inside jokes/nods of the head that the designers put in the game to
other sci-fi rpgs such as Traveller.
