Greetings all,
I have been away for quite some time, dealing with life issues.
I am back.
I apologize for my absence and the lapse in calendar monitoring.
I have cleared the events calendar of outdated material.
I have removed hard-bouncing email accounts (with the exception of a
few of my emergency alt accounts - which I will tend to after this
announcement).
I plan to rejuvenate this forum, and hopefully with it - means of
gamer contact.
One of the first exciting things I would like to mention is the
formation of a new gaming group in Michiana, "Fire For Effect" created
by Jason Fritz, Dr. David Vollrath, and a handful of other dedicated
local gamers. It is currently focusing on miniatures wargaming (any
and all types, from historical to sci fi), but remains open and
welcoming to Boardgaming, Strategy games, light RPGs, and whatever
else they decide to do when the root beer and pretzels mood strikes
this uncanny and clever troupe.
Please be sure to check them out. They are growing and need your
support to become a grand affair.

Also, I am developing/Frankensteining a new SciFi game and universe.
This will be a sizeable, lengthy project, as I have between 25 and 30
different RPGs to sift through, finding what is most attractive to
what I wish to put in the new RPG and discarding the rest. My search
for just the right game has led me to this end. It will be long and
arduous and I hope rewarding. In the meantime, I really need to
immerse myself more fully into the atmosphere of SciFi.
I would like to find out if there are any local gaming groups,
currently running a good, solid (non-monty hallish) SciFi RPG campaign
that may have an opening.
The SciFi RPGs I am reading for reference material (and thereby RPGs I
would likely be interested in playing) are:
Star Frontiers, Red Dwarf, BattleTech, Fringeworthy, Aliens, Paranoia,
Stargate, SpaceMaster, Starship Troopers, Babylon Project, Jovian
Chronicles, Cold Space, Space Rangers, Hard Nova, High Colonies,
Fading Suns, Future World, Star Legion, CyberPunk 2020 and V3,
Serenity/Firefly, Space 1889, Space Opera, all the Travellers (3 or 4
versions/time periods), Twilight 2000, Dark Conspiracy, and of course,
Star Wars. Currently looking for an actual Andromeda RPG, as well as
Star Patrol.
Lastly, I would like to ask if there are any Virtual Gamers out there,
and welcome them to the forum as well as ask current members of
Michiana to direct known V-Gamers here. V-Gamers are particularly, but
not exclusively, a reference to gamers who play MMOs, MMOGs, and
MMORPGs.
I will start off with a listing og current and former V-Game ventures
of mine (this list is strictly MMOs):
City of Heroes/City of Villains (current)
Lord of the Rings
World of Warcraft
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Everquest II
Star Wars Galaxies (PRE-NGE)
Eve Online
Battlefield Europe: World War 2
Several online friends of mine (and myself), all of them formerly from
a military Imperial guild in Star Wars Galaxies (I was in primarily a
sith guild) are also eagerly awaiting the fantastic MMORPG, StarGate
Worlds - http://www.stargateworlds.com
as well as, Pirates of the Burning Sea - http://www.burningsea.com
The graphics (download the video files!) are incredible.
You should check them out. I will upload links to others, as well as a
few demos, later today.
Well, enough for now. I hope to hear from current members as well as
see new faces.
Please spread the word. This forum is back in action.
