RE: [TBG FAQ Discussion] OK so what happened to my pet Weasel?

Excellent question. Aliens don't move; they are "placed." Aliens are rumored to have, on average, a 50% chance of being at their own homeworld. The remainder are placed in somewhat random systems with the presence of player ships increasing the odds of an alien being in that system. The last bit is a feature to discourage cheating that also made the universe feel a little fuller in the early stages of the game.

Chris

Subject: [TBG FAQ Discussion] OK so what happened to my pet Weasel?

How does an alien disappear without a working warp drive?

I've just managed in a feat of spectacular stupidity to lose six
modules to a Weasel (95). The damn thing blessed his cloaks (which I'd
stupidly not thought he'd do) and so got a tad to close for comfort
and by the time I'd widened range safely enough I'd reached my retreat
threashold of 6 and so (even more stupidly) ran away. So far my fault.

However what I don't understand is where said Weasel is now. I didn't
jump, and I'd shot off his warp drive*, but he's not here any more. I
want a chance to reclaim my modules :-( . (ok they were lousy
modules anyway but I wanted to claim his as they were worth a tad
more)

Marvin
Fiercely Paranoid captain of the Lost Hope.

(ok not so Fierce it seems for a bit, but pretty paranoid that
someone's pinched my weasel)

*Yes ok so this as it turns out, was stupid too, but I wanted him to
hang around for a bit, and hadn't considered removing his weapons.
