I've decided that it would be way to slow and complex to do an ordered switch over, since I'd have to get all the information from everyone and then work out where I'm going, and then add in the new players. The new rules are not that differant to the old, the basic idea is the same. I've formalised the Techs everyone gets, and as I don't have anything from Dan I don't know how differant this is for any of you.
Apply to join the OOC group to get the generic startup stuff. This is mainly a load of html pages that form the basic rules and Tech position [Intranet]. I wrote all this over the weekend, which would not have been possible had I waited for the information from you all. If you don't join the OOC group then you will not be able to take part in the discussions there, and miss the GM announcements. If you don't join the IC group you will miss player In-Character announcements and the like.
There is also a spreadsheet in that that requires you to enter the following information [but you could just email this info to me]:-
Your Name
Your Primary Email
Your Secondary Email
Tribe Name [eg Scotti]
Tribe Adjective [eg Scotts]
Empire Name [eg Scotland]
Leader Name
Then there are three drop-down boxes to choose :-
Primary Tech area [two free technologies will appear if you use the spreadshet].
Secondary Tech area [another free technology will appear]
Adverse Tech area
Then there's a comment field, for where you have a choice of techs listed as your secondary free tech.
Then there's a choice of terrain, a drop down box again [I think I maybe should have added Tundra, Jungle, and a few others, if you want these put it in next place]
Finally a large box with any comments to me....
...and thats all.
Send choice back before end of Jan to be guaranteed a place in the game, first turn will be at beginning of Feb, with turns weekly after that.
Once I have your registration I will send you out another spreadsheet [yes I'm sorry, but it will be no more complex to use than the one above - the Complexity will be in the formulae and design to make it so easy to use
that if you have problems just ask any 5 year old child to help out]!
The rules/tech info will be expanded as you learn new things, and there will be enough in this 'intranet' to allow you to avoid the spreadsheet if you really must... but it will be easier to use the spreedsheet, as it 'knows' the rules.
All players will recieve a map in one of their turns before the end of Feb, and as their knowledge expands.

Uhmmm...a couple of questions. If we were already here do we have to
re register? Also will we be using the same rules and spread sheets &
stuff? Actually I am kind of hoping we dont need the spread sheets
because that would spare me having to learn how to use the bloody
things....:P
