The Sims 2 on PSP (Playstation Portable) has been labelled as one of th
etop 10 worst games released on PSP sp far by pocketgamer.co.uk.and are
clearly not impressed by it, as seen below.
"Without the slow load times, this
would be a commendable if condensed version of an enjoyable franchise.
Facing facts, though, EA might as well fill the box with wasps for the
amount it'll sting anyone handing over good money to buy it. Every year
we're told that pets are for life and not just for Christmas, but when
the beast is a shambling, wheezing wreck such as this, putting it down
seems the only humane thing to do."
EA Games have released 7 new screenshot's showcasing the upcoming Seasons Expansion Pack and I have uploaded these to The Sims Archive. The ice rink and the snow looks so great. What does everyone think of these?
The Sims Archove also have a new address. The host we were with (Zooper Hosts), have decided to discontinue all web hosting, and gave all clients to the company we're with now. I'm not exactly happy about it, although it will do for the moment. Yes, the address (
http://www.simsarchive.gdwebhosting.net.au/) is kind of long, so I'll get a domain in the next few weeks. So please update your bookmarks/favorites to reflect this change of address.
I know that the links in here don't work very well in some email clients, although I can't make them as hyperlinks as they then display terribly for those without HTML formatting on under their settings, so on our site, are direct, much easier to use links. http://www.simsarchive.zooperhosts.com/
Its unfortunate to say that I've received no entries at all so far, although you still have until the end of the day to submit them to me. Anyway, I've taken some Holiday Screenshot's and will upload them tomorrow, and there will also be a short tutorial explaining how I achieved these screenshot's, etc. So, if you want to enter, please submit the screenshot's ASAP.
This
week, Joe reviewed the fansite, Betsy's Little Sim Shoppe, and awarded
it a promising 9 out of 10 stars. This week its a video review, and at
over 10 minutes long, every aspect of the site has certainly been
covered.
The official Sims 2 site has just added a playable Christmas greeting song, which is a parody of a very popular Christmas carol, and is sung in Simlish, although its still possible to get what the song is supposed to be.
Of those two surveys I mentioned about being available earlier, we have now uploaded some of the more interesting questions and info (about soundtrack albums for The Sims 2 and casual games based on aspects of The Sims 2) to our site. So check it out at
Two surveys are currently available to take regarding The Sims 2. One is available from The Sims 2 official site, and is a questionaire/survey on music in The Sims 2 and can be taken @
http://www.insightexpress.com/s/Sims102612
The Sims Archive is running a "Christmas Screenshot's" activity, in which you can submit a set of 3 screenshot's showing Sims celebrating Christ mas, and then a winner will be announced on Christmas EVE.
Theres an official survey for the Pets expansion pack up on the EA site, in which you can give feedback on how you think the game is. Its a pretty standard questionnaire, and included no potential info about upcoming expansion packs or anything.
The survey has already been up for 3 hours though, and EA Games rarely leaves these up for more than a few hours, so hurry.
An interesting series of questions was: a) Religion is very important to me b) I like going to parties c) I care a great deal of what other people think of me d) I am a very competitive person e) I consider myself a leader f) When new technologies come out, I want to be one of the first to try it. g) I care a great deal about how I look h) I like to be challenged i) I like to gamble j) I would rather be a part of a team than work on my own k) I like to keep up with current events l) I spend a great deal of time keeping physically fit m) I prefer to purchase designer labels n) I would rather work on my own than as part of a team o) Getting ahead at my job or in school is very important to me p) I often buy things on impulse q) I'm a member of a club or group outside of school
Just to clear up some confusion, The Sims 2 Life Stories is a separate game from your normal Sims 2 on PC. Current expansion packs WILL NOT be compatible with it, and it currently has 2 expansion packs planned for release.
I've just uploaded 7 new screenshots for the upcoming, 5th expansion pack "Seasons". These screenshots are awesome and show all 4 seasons. The detail is amazing, such as the sunburn on Sims, etc.
I am happy to announce that the hosting issues for The Sims Archive have been resolved, and Zopper Hosts has kindly offered to host us. The now old address (
www.simsarchive.jumbahost.com
) will cease working on December the 8th, so be sure to bookmark our new location (www.simsarchive.zooperhosts.com
) before this date, so as not to lose us. Moving the site over to the new hosts was not quite as simple as I first thought, and not all parts of the site are currently online. All text files, and php pages (basically everything bar downloads and screenshots) are fine, although some screenshots are still to be uploaded (most have though). Also all downloads are offline, while I fix these.
A while back I reported about "life Stories" for The Sims 2. It is now
known that Life Stories is going to be the normal Sims 2 that we're
used to, although optimized for use on a laptop computer. It will have
a special pause feature, in which the laptop can be closed and stored
with the game still running. You got to admit, The Sims 2 is a large
resource hog, and needs a decent machine to run smoothly. Hopefully
this Life Stories version may be able to be used by those with lower
end PCs as well.
