Subject: Players Wearing Orthopedic Casts During Games

Today, I witnessed at a U12 Rec game a player, who was wearing a fiberglass cast on her wrist being allowed to play.  Please notify all coaches and referees that this is strictly prohibited by CYSA even if the cast is padded.

The following is the exact regulation from CYSA.

All players, parents, coaches, and referees are required to act as a reasonable person concerning player safety, including protecting players from wearing any equipment or device that is dangerous to the player wearing the equipment or device or to any other player. Dangerous equipment and devices include but are not limited to orthopedic casts, air-splints, or metal splints. Players wearing any dangerous equipment or device including orthopedic casts, air-splints, or metal splints, shall not be eligible to participate in any game, practice, tryout or training session.

Please distribute this to all coaches and referees.

Thanks, Marty

Coordinators, Coaches, and Parent Volunteers-

Coordinators please forward this message to your coaches, and coaches do the
same for your parents.

The condition of the storage bin at Curtis Field needs your attention.
Please consider the following requests.

1) All small goals, U-6 thru U-9's stack against the side of the storage bin
so they do not block the floor to the back.

2)Remove the U-10 and U-12 net bags from the storage bins and replace them
when done. Do Not put the nets away in garbage cans and abandon the net bag
and equipment on the storage bin floor. Keep the stakes, mallet and two nets
in each net bag.

3)When done with painting the fields, throw away the empty spray cans, and
empty boxes in the large dumpster located next to the baseball diamond and
the school.

4)Do not destroy the garbage bag holder that has been re-enforced and is
located next to the storage bin front door. PLEASE put liners in the garbage
cans when set out in the morning. PLEASE empty the garbage cans and throw
away the used liner and trash at the end of the day. DO NOT stack trash cans
with garbage inside the storage bin.

I know the doors to both of the storage bins are hard to operate. The doors
to the bin next to the snack shake have been repaired and close a little
easier. Take the effort or ask for help to close and properly lock the bins.

If you haven't noticed, there has been a constant battle with graffiti
vandalism at the storage bin-snack shake area. So, a unsavory element
frequents this area during the off hour. You must lock up the bins properly,
to prevent the loss or damage to the league equipment.

Field Manager- Augie Zigon

Hello U6 Coaches,

I have gotten a few notes that I need to pass on to all of you:

1)  Shooting Stars will take individual, as well as team photos, for those who were not able to make it on 9/17/05.  They will also retake any photo you are unhappy with.  Please note that it is up to the individual or the team to contact Shooting Stars @ (800) 311-7784 ext.2 and schedule a time for the make-up photo.

2)  Notice to All Teams:
The parking lot along Lochinvar is a private parking lot which belongs to the Monticello School.  Due to a number of incidents (accidents), the condition that the parking lot after soccer practices and games (trash left on the ground) and concern for the safety of the students the parking lot is no longer available for soccer parking and they will start towing unauthorized vehicles parking in the lot.  Please inform all parents not to park in the parking as their vehicle may be towed.

We are continuing to have a problem with children urinating around the school.  The City has provided porto-potties in addition to our bathrooms. Parents should be directed to have their children use the porto-potties or bathrooms located near the snack shack.  No one should be bothering the school to use their bathroom.

Also, the playgrounds at the school are off limits to parents or children. It is posted "No Trespassing" violators will be prosecuted by the School.

There have also been complaints filed with the School District regarding smoking on school property.  There is no smoking on school property or at any League functions including practices or games.

We are at risk of losing the use of Curtis School completely, so let's all work together so that we don't lose the use of the fields.

3)  For those teams that do not have 1st aid kits, they are in and I have them at my house.  Please let me know if you need one and I will try to find you at the fields on Saturday. Otherwise, I will leave them in the box on my front porch.

4)  I have only received trophy names from 3 coaches.  Please get those to me by this Friday.

5)  I also have not heard back from everyone regarding lining the fields on their assigned Friday. Please get back to me ASAP . (Geoffry, Demitri, Elizabeth, Jason,Sandy)  This Friday is Doug Fields and Felicia Sanders.

6) Please be courteous when putting away the garbage cans and the goals after the games on Saturdays.  The garbage cans need to be emptied (Please don't forget to put one out if you have the 8:00 game) and please stack the goals in an upright position against the inside (left) wall of the shed.  I was told that some have just been thrown in there and people have to step on and over them to get things that are further in the shed.

Thank you all and I hope you are all having a fun season!

I have the banner already being made, so I will let you know on how much it will cost.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me or my husband at 497-5820
or my at 497-6027

Your picture time is set for: 11:05am
Saturday, September 17th, Curtis Field. Please have your team arrive
about 15 minutes early.

I have picture envelopes for you to pass out to your parents on my
front porch. You or your team mom is more than welcome to come by and
pick them up. Otherwise, I will try to deliver them to the coaches
on Saturday at the game.

Any questions, feel free to e-mail me. Have a great game this weekend.

Kim Bettencourt
