I played the scenario yesterday, and it played very well. I went with Class 2
for both movement and cover, and it seemed to work very well. If the
Australians set up on the start line instead of behind it, this really lets them
get close on that first turn without getting too far towards the top. One issue
was the lack of space for the Turks to enter. I was bareley able to get 1
regiment out there with one of the MG companies. If the Turks get the first
turn initiative, I'd have to suggest they move towards the south as they enter
to give more units a place to enter on later move cards. I suggest adding about
6 inches of table there, just continuing the shown terrain on back that much
more, which will give the Turkish force a bit of maneuver room. Otherwise, it
plays very well. We played to a draw at the end of 6 turns. There is no turn
limit stated, but we played about 4 hours to that point, with a bit of time
going over morale and some basic rules as my new partner had never played a
Piquet game before. So, I suggest playing to 6 turns, with adding more if you
have time. He ended up really enjoying the system and looks forward to trying
other periods.
