Re: [Piquet] ravenna

Hi Ken,

THREE?brilliant Leader Cards... whoah!? Nothing in the rules to prevent all from
being used as Engines of War relaod. Isn't this the scenario with an option for
lying down or sheltering some troops in the dead ground (Spanish)?

Yes, I would discard a Brilliant Leader (and replace it with a Command
Indecision) if a skilled C-in-C is killed, TWO (those from the C-in-C's rating)
if Superior.

Pike Blocks with skirmish screens. I would allow the skirmishers deployed in
front of a PB to move at the same rate on any double move PB moves, although tha
isn't in the rules.?Whena Pike block (or aything else) charges, the skirmishers
can move backwards through the gaps (assuming they are present and otherwise
able to do so).

Melee across Class III Teran:? Yes, exactly; crossing the Class III terrain will
cause Disorder where otherwise called for in the rules.

Courage Check:? The unit taking the courage test uses it's? BDV for Morale as
modified by the Morae Test table. It rolls against the enemy army's Other
difficult die (see card definition). Fearsome units cause Courage? checks; they
don't roll in suc an event. They on;ly take them if in direct contact with the
enemy when the card is turned. Being Fearsome themselves, they are "not
impressed" by enemy Fearsome units!

Hope it was the exhaustion of a battle well fought!

Peter Anderson

Hello, we are half way through the Ravenna scenario, which has played very well,
but have a few questions that have arisen. One side has 3 brilliant leader
cards, and has always used them as artillery reload, this has made the artillery
deadly, but probably unhistorically so. can these cards be used in this way? or
do you have to change what you want them to be if you have more than one?
If a superior leader is killed do you discard a brilliant leader card?
Pike blocks with a skirmisher screen, do pikes simply charge through them to
contact the enemy? do skirmishers double move at the same rate?
Melee across type 3 terrain, are the victors disordered when they cross?
How is a morale challenge resolved if there is no unit loss e.g. courage card,
what die does the fearsome unit roll?
Sorry if this is a lot of questions, but after several hours play im too
exhausted to wade through the books

Cheers, Ken
