Of all the fabulous empires, kingdoms, nations, city-states, hoary tracts and territories that sprawl across the face of Onara, the vast expanse of the lofty Coryani Empire is the greatest. However, even the largest of titans must first be born. For the Coryani Empire, that birth occurred in the city of Midea Triduana, situated on the eastern bank of the mighty Corvis River. The val'Assante', fleeing the Theocracy of the Cleansing Flame, came to this city, conquered it, and renamed it Coryan, calling themselves the Coryani Empire. It was from Coryan that the First Emperor was found, by the two sons of the val'Assante' King. And when the First Emperor united the world and put an end to the Shadowed Age, it was Coryan that became the jewel of Onara, the capitol of the greatest empire in the world. Now, the capitol has moved to Grand Coryan, the mighty city across the river, and Coryan, now called Old Coryan, sank into corruption and vice. Yet still, the ancient nobility of history can be found in every stone of the city. Old Coryan is a city of deadly intrigues, of ruthless crime lords and corrupt politicians playing their games with the lives of the people. It is a city of temples and markets of epic scale. It is a city where the religion and culture of the Coryani is tempered by the ancient Triduae worship of the Horned King, and by Myrantian immigrants with their strange and terrible practices. In a city such as Old Coryan, destruction and redemption lay just within the shadows, waiting to change the city in their wake. Come, adventurers of Arcanis, to Old Coryan, to save or to destroy, and be forever changed.
