Okay, since Chris Ewick will run the DBA open on Saturday evening at
Dragonflight, I'll be happy to present a DBA campaign event during the earlie
periods of Saturday morning & afternoon. I really liked Paul's suggestion that I
start the game in the morning and take a break for lunch in the middle.
Because Paul can't make it to the event, I certainly don't care to poach his
idea for an event based on the campaigns of Tamerlaine the Great. Looking for
something else, I notice that I have built Bid Campaigns for armies from Books
I, III and IV, but nothing from the Classical Era. If I choose one of Rome' many
wars, it would increase the likelihood that people could bring and play with
their own figures, since so many of us have armies from that period. I've been
interested in designing a game based on the Second Punic War for more than 25
years, so this seems like a great opportunity to finally do the project. I'll
set it up so that we can play with either 6 or 8 players, and I'll step in
myself if an odd number sign up.
Plus, I have a painted Iberian army, a finished camp with a Roman wagon, and an
Osprey Men-At-Arms book to give away as prizes for the top three finishers.
I'll publish all the background material on the Yahoo group before the
convention.
