Re: [NapoleonicFireandFury] Napoleonic Campaign Group

Jim, I'd love to see your Soldier King notes. I might do something along those
lines using the BattleFinder sets from Perfect Captain.

Hi Paul,

I've also lurked on this forum, since about the year 2000, but have never posted
before {sheepish smile}.

Your post stirred me to action, however. I am also a "campaign player", and have
participated in many campaigns over the years. Last summer I began re-basing my
1970's vintage 25mm Scruby Napoleonic armies for AoE (about 3000 figures); I
loved ACW F&F, having played it a lot in the '90's. I use standard AoE base
sizes, with 2 25mm infantry per infantry base, and 1 cavalry figure per cavalry
base.

This winter I began an AoE campaign using the old "Soldier King" boardgame as a
campaign vehicle, modified for Napoleonics. The campaign is still going strong,
having lots of fun with it.

I'd be interested in any campaign discussion group you might get going.

Jim McConnell ;-)

I have been a lurker on this forum for some time, but have never posted before.
I have wargamed this period for longer than I care to remember, and for many
years have run various campaigns. They are often based on 1813, because that
gives the widest choice of nations.

The campaigns have always been fictional, because of the difficulty of trying to
recreate a historical campaign. Their main purpose has been to provide regular
wargames, but with a reason for the battle and consequences for the winner and
loser.

I have started a blog for my current campaign, which can be found at
http://napoleonicwargaming.blogspot.com/

However my real reason for posting now is to ask is there a forum or website
dedicated to Napoleon Campaigns?

If not, would there be any interest in setting one up? I would suggest that it
would cover the creation of campaigns, how to make maps, how to plan the
campaign, how to record the campaign in diaries or movement orders and how to
produce battle reports.
