Comrades!
As previously posted, MYTHIC RUSSIA will be being launched at the
splendid Continuum gaming convention in the UK at the end of this
month (www.continuum.uk.net) -- there will be a great Russian vibe
at this friendly and busy con, so if anyone is interested, they are
strongly encouraged to sign up (there are only a few days left to
register).
The MYTHIC RUSSIA LAUNCH PARTY will take place on Friday evening --
there will be the CRITICAL HIT contest draw, prizes, a soupcon of
vodka, music and a Russian magician!
Then there will be several MYTHIC RUSSIA game sessions throughout
the con:
IN THE DARK FOREST
By Newt Newport
You are travelling through the dark forest and you come across a
peasant village where all the children have gone missing? Who is
responsible and where are the children?
A very simple 1-2 hour demo game for up to six players, characters
provided. A chance to try the new Mythic Russia game. Just jump in
and play!
CLAWS OF THE WOLF
By Newt Newport
Godspeed, you Knights of the Teutonic Order in your crusade against
the Lithuanian pagans. May the Blessed Virgin Mary protect you in
your journey to Castle Insterburg, on the very frontier of our
lands, where the cultivated fields of God-fearing folk give way to
the dark forests of the devil himself!
A 4-hour game for up to 6 players from the perspective of the
Teutonic Knights.
IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY
by Neil Smith
All is not well in the Siberian fur-trading town of Solikamsk.
Prince Porfiri has seen the gold that flows with the furs: why have
his loyal vassals stopped paying taxes? Nothing has been heard of
the Orthodox monastery set up there recently: have they been
corrupted by pagan spirits? The Sibryaks have noticed a disturbance
in the Quiet Lands: are these newcomers to blame? How are these
questions connected, and who has the right of it? (Oh, and it's got
a dancing bear...)
Although not technically a MYTHIC RUSSIA event, Saturday's keynote
freeform (LARP) game, RISING TSAR, also builds on this theme, being
set in Moscow as a collection of princes, commoners, heroes and
opportunists gather to see in the new year 1382 and plan their
response to the approaching Mongol invasion…
Best wishes,
Mark
