Comrades!

There will be those pettifogging pedants who will point out that
this is being posted on 1 February, but if the Russians can
celebrate Christmas on 7 January, I see no reason to limit myself to
such mundane chronological exactitudes.

WEBSITE UPDATES

I'm delighted to have been able to add a thumbnail shot of the
wonderful colour cover by Jeremy Mohler to the site. In addition,
the minor updates include a short extract on the Kolduny, the hedge
wizards, witches and warlocks of Russian folklore.

BAEG TOBAR

Speaking of Jeremy's art, I would also like to note that he's the
artistic director of the Baeg Tobar Project, "a shared-world
creative community whose artists and authors join together to tell
you the stories of the people of Baeg Tobar. Adventure, romance,
comedy, tragedy; prose, comics, original artwork - you'll find it
all here." It really is well worth a visit.

ROLEMANCER

And while on a tangeant, I trust everyone on this list knows that
roleplaying games are also alive and well in Russia -- as the
(Russian-language) Rolemancer site attests!

RUSSIAN PROVERB OF THE MONTH

"Following the hare's tracks may lead you to the bear's den."

All the best (and expect a more substantial update soon)

Mark
