Dear William,
Thanks for the welcome message!
[Sorry this is so delayed, I never got the email of the this message; Yahoo!
groups emails have been a bit flaky for me lately - bad luck.]
I understand what you're saying, that any chess board will do.
What I really meant is that I have an old (1970's) Chess^3 3D chess board that
has a 2" king and approximately 1" squares, and I was wondering if anyone knew
where I could buy replacement chess pieces for *this* chess board?
I found 2 1/2" king (cheap) plastic chess pieces at chesshouse.com, but I fear
even they will be too big for my Chess^3 chess board.
Does anyone know where I can buy cheap 2" king (< 1" base) chess pieces? I would
be greatly appreciative.
Sincerely,
--
Jeffrey Rolland

size of the board or squares is not important. Just like traditional chess, you
could play a 2D chess game on a small travel board or on a full-size tournament
board, and it wouldn't matter.

in between boards to move a piece without knocking over the rest of the board.

Chess* games as well as to log the chess games using a spreadsheet on my
cumputer with three 8 by 8 grids and chess fonts. The Strato Chess board could
be bigger, but I can easily move the chess pieces with just-a-little-care while
reaching into the middle board. This follows the old rule, "if the shoe [board]
fits, wear [play] it!"
