For different games it could be done differently. What I do know is I like games where the tiles then form the "dungeon" the players move around in so that feature will ber in all of them.

Intriguing. I can imagine this would be really good for discovery and exploration games. Will tile placement be random? Ongoing? One-time? Adversarial? Cooperative? I want to see more of what you have in mind.
