Rules Digest 04/23/05

1. Do not answer rules questions on the list, even if they are not
preceded by a [RULES] note.
2. Old rules digests may be found at http://mndigest.shadowdragon.net,
or in the Files section of the listserv:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MagiNation/files
Please check previous digests before asking a question to be certain
it has not been answered before.
3. Include [RULES] in the subject of all rules posts, otherwise the
rules team may miss the question for the digest.
4. We must stress again the first rule; those who continually violate
this will be in danger of moderation.

RT = Rules Team

1. Starting Cards
2. Undreaming Colossus?
3. Playing a creature
4. Hood of Hiding

> > have to get those first.
> 1. Thanks, that's useful to know. Does also apply to "any card" if
> you have, well anything in your discard pile?

RT - Yes it does. If you're playing Rayje/Rayje/Rayje, be VERY
conscious of what your initial starting cards are. :)

> 2. Does Alaban's Undream power work on the Colossus?

RT - Absoultely. Anti-Magic protects from "specific discard", but
Undream "returns to hand," which is definitely NOT a discard.

> 3. If you use a spell or power to bring in a creature (like Hyren's
> Call), does things like Robe of Vines affect it?

RT - Yes. Any time you bring a creature into play, you are considered
to have "played" the creature, and trigger all appropriate effects,
including Robe of Vines (and Corrupt, and Magam Flamesmith).

> 4. can you still attack a magi's creatures if they use the Hood of
> Hiding?

RT - Yes. Conceal protects only the Magi, not any of the Magi's other
cards in play.

1 - Only if an amount of energy beyond zero is successfully added does Underbrush take effect. A restore effect counts as long as energy is actually added. 2 -...
