Sorry about the delay in reply. I set it aside to reply to, got distracted, and
forgot that I hadn't made the reply yet.
RT - The short answer is, you do just what the Warrior Olum says.
The long answer: Myka's Burrow effect has no impact on the operation of the
power Challenge, because you have to CHOOSE to lose the energy from your Magi,
which makes it a cost. The long-standing RT definition of a cost (from the
10/23/02 Rules Digest) is, 'Whenever a Spell, Power, or Effect causes you to
choose something of yours that you will lose as part of the Spell, Power, or
Effect, regardless of which point in the resolution that loss occurs, it is a
cost.' Burrow will protect Myka from losing more than two energy to opposing
spells, powers, or attacks, but it will NOT protect her from paying costs.
