***You are in fact correct. That was my fault: When checking the
final Digest, I looked at out-of-date playtest text instead of
checking the actual card. The net effect of this ruling is the same
(ie, all of the protection effects that can trigger off of fireball,
trigger against the first one even if their protection is redundant),
except for the fact that Lightning Sand stays in play since spells do
not trigger it.
