I forgot to mention that the glow crystal may not be nessecary to get the
essence to 5 but
if the last sala silver doesn't work then a glow crystal is a good way to get
the job done.
Also glow crystals cost 2000 each so it is wasteful to use one if you don't need
it since its
energy boost wont be enough to get another point. If you are trying to make an
über
sword out of this it is better to start like normal and just do this when you
first start
boosting salamander. That way you don't waste materials.

0. If you are just starting this weapon then a good start would be:
sala silver
sulpher
sulpher
sulpher
sala silver
glow crystal
sharp claw
3 lilipods
from this point you can keep going on the essence tempering as the plunge attack
will
stay on unless you replace it with another.
Hello, im new here and new to tempering, and i would like a recipe that
would get the flamtongue plunge attack on my sword, and materials are
of no matter, as i have plenty of all of them.

I will help you but to do so I need you to tell me an example of your
problem(materials used both primary and secundary, and order of
tempering, and obiously what you are making for example a sword or a
shield) In order to identify the problem.
Bye.
Hey can someone help me. I understand what they r for...I try to follow
recipes and for some reason the respective cards dont show. I've tried
it with both high/low resistance materials, yet sorceress and wizard
wont show. Why is that? Im not getting the desired effects either. I
temper 3 glow crystals, then a sala silver, and then 2 sulphers. All
the sulphers do is push out 2 NoD and then puts in blank card slots. I
want to get past lvl 6! Please give me a hand!

It's really all about the cards you pick at the end. The HP regain and
the no HP regain are from the respective cards. It is all about
substituting which cards you would rather have on the armor.
I've already got an "Uber Pendant" so I don't need the status
defenses, elemental defenses, etc. I'm trying to get 99/99/99/99
defense, WITHOUT sacrificing the ability to regenerate HP (Or at least
come as close as possible). Can anyone hit me with a guide to some
Armor and maybe a Mantle with high numbers, that still allow you to heal?
Stuff like that can't travel from one file to another, unfortunately.

So if I import another player (the house in domina), will he keep his
stats from the armor he is already wearing?
And I am already following a guide or two and have a good idea on what
I want ^_-.
Thanks for the replies.
The only thing special about playing 2 players is the second person can better control how many xp crystals are picked up by the NPC. 2 player mode isn't done very well in this game. Not at all like Secret of Mana for snes... 2 player was good in that one. :)
xp gained by the 2nd player stays with the second player, and I don't think forbidden ring can even be equipped on the second player.
Unless you have a friend sitting there bored watching you play the game, or you have already played the game and are getting a friend to play it there's no benefit to 2 player mode.
Good Luck, Ed
p.s. - look at the map placement guide and play through the game following one of those setups. You'll be able to get much better items. :)

Is there anything special about playing two player?
As in: When you gain exp and levels, is it transfered when you leave?
And what about a "Forbidden Ring" on the 2P?
I would like to experiment, I have no urge to hack a second file for
this purpose, and was wondering if anyone had any previous experience.
There's nothing exactly "special" about it, except that it's fun to play with friends/family.
You *can* transfer EXP if you want (the game will prompt you to save when the second character leaves), but all Lucre always stays with the first player.
As for that last thing, if the 2P is wearing the ring, then it doesn't do anything. 2Ps don't gain stat benefits from armor. If your 1P is wearing the ring, then yes EXP can be shared between them.

Here's one chart that I know of:
http://www.geocities.com/xo_pitseleh/lom2.html
Personally, I would put temper a 1H Sword with the Vampsword plunge
attack. You might as well kill your enemy while absorbing its energy
(actually works very well on bosses in No Future Mode).

I believe you can with the right plunge effects on your weapon. Not
all weapons have them available but some of the plunge attacks are
supposed to cause status effects. You should be able to temper a god
of destruction card onto a sword and get the "flametongue" plunge
attack which causes flameburst. Try looking for a good item tempering
effects chart to see which ones you can use.
Most likely, depending on your circumstances. See Myst Erik Ery's
Monster Drop Guide found here.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/256525/30684
It thoroughly explain how monster levels affect item drops.

From what I understand, in Nightmare Mode, all enemies are 50 levels stronger; and in No Future Mode, all enemies are at Level 99.

If I remember what was said on the message boards correctly, 93 is the cap.

Spirit is for status defense.
Oh, and if you're looking for perfect HP Regen, there's a cap. I'm not sure of the exact number, but I'm thinking that it's 93,
although a quick search showed it could be 97.
In any case, once your HP hits that point you'll regenerate faster than you can be damaged in most scenarios. Kind of like Pseudo- Invincibility.

Essence, on a weapon, raises attack power. And once it gets to a
certain level (2? I don't know.) it gets that essence's marker,
which makes your attacks partly aligned with that essence. The best
way to raise attack power is to first increase a weapon's essence
levels.
Essences on armor don't do much (as far as I know) until it gains
that essences' marker, which gives you a 10% resistance to attacks
of that essence.
Any single essence can usually be raised to 15 using complex forging
techniques. Total, certain essences can hit 15 while others might
only get to 14 or 9. It depends on the material you use.
(This is all off the top of my head, it might be a little off.
Somebody correct me if i'm off)

The HP stat covers regeneration.

You can buy Dialaurels and Gold Clovers from the Bone Fortress. The
others you'll have to grow. Cabbadillos should be simple enough to
get, but Rocket Papaya's are exceedingly rare.
See this site (http://www.geocities.com/xo_pitseleh/lom5.html) for
some information on growing produce.
Boy.
I remember joining this group some years ago when I was all about LoM.
Well, recently I started back up and I remember I had an easy recipe
for a LorimarIron 2H sword that was pretty easy. Check out the site I
made like 4 years ago for Legend of Mana.
www.freewebs.com/legendofmanaworld
It's in the forging section :).
If anyone wants me to start working on the site again I will, of
course if I get enough people saying yes.
