Registration will be open to all for Catchupcon in about a half hour, thats 8PM
Eastern time tonight, 11/22.

We have a very full schedule, including lots of paragon mods scheduled. We've
added several longer slots for the paragon mods, so that players can get the
full experience of playing their high level characters.

We can still use some judges for the LFR events, particularly the paragon tier
mods. We'll have excellent swag and priority seating for judges.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

QUES1-1 retires from RPGA sanctioned play on 31 Decement 2012. The blurb:

You have haggled with the potter, you have given the coin to the stranger, and
you have spared the life of an agent. Now, the Zhentarim is offering you a
chance to join their ranks. Darkhold and the secrets of the Black Network await
for those clever and ruthless enough to infiltrate the Zhentarim. A Living
Forgotten Realms adventure set in the Western Heartlands for characters levels
7-10.

As the end of 2009 comes I would like to know if that is the deadline for the
Zhent quest cards.

What I mean if I have a character that hasn't completed all 3 tasks by the end
of this year can I complete some in 2010?

Also what character levels QUES 1-1 "Black Cloaks and Bitter Rivalries" set
for?

Thanks

I think the key, from my "hallway" conversations with folks, was not that the LFR staff didn't want to DO Battle Interactives, it's that they wanted to do them RIGHT.

I don't know if you played it, but in my opinion, LG's _Ranger's Lead the Way_ BI was done right. :D

Yes, the Swordmage warding change is included in the character builder.  The paragraph about losing your warding if you go unconscious and then you need to short rest to restore it is gone.

NOTE - the update still says you don't benefit from the warding if you are unconscious -- but now if you become conscious again you get the warding back automatically and don't need to short rest to get it back.

Can anyone tell me what I can expect to spend on this event.  ie: registration costs (the one thing I don't see)  Looks like slots are 8.00 each.  Hotel looks like 217.45 for 2 nights. Parking 7.00 per day.  anything else I missed other than food?

Registration is the main thing.  How much and when can sign ups be done??

Description: San Diego Comic-Con is a world famous Comic Book and other Fan
Media convention. It is something that has to be experienced to be
Believed with over 70,000 attendees a year.

Once again in 2010 WotC will be supporting WPN play at Comic-Con. It's too
early to say exactly what, but it will most likely include a premiere LFR
adventure or two as well as some convention only material. Additionally,
there's the chance of prize support. We'll know more as we get closer, but
if you want to attend, don't wait.

Additionally, Paizo has graciously offered to sponsor the Pathfinder Society
gaming at Comic-Con 2010. That means in addition to Paizo's marvelous
Pathfinder Society games we will have prizes available for both judges and
players. We will be supporting all available levels of play. This may be one
of your few chances for level 12 play.

Unfortunately, Comic-Con is incredibly popular and the four day full-con
badges are already sold out. The single day badges are scheduled to go on
sale December 15th, 2009, and we expect them to sell out quickly as well.

Events:
All levels of Living Forgotten Realms and Pathfinder Society play will be
supported each day of the convention. More details will be provided as they
become available, stay tuned as we may have some special treats lined up for
you!

Schedule:
A full schedule of games will be available on the web site:
       http://www.warhorn.org/ComicCon2010/schedule/day.php

Thanks for your attention and my apologies to those of you who receive this
multiple times.

Yes. Before the update, if your swordmage was knocked unconscious, you lost your
+3 AC boost until you could take a short rest, that is no longer the case.

I haven't looked at warlock specifically, but the monk update and double weapon update
seem to be there, so I don't see why all of the other updates wouldn't be as well.

They're also explicitly restricted to hitting with that weapon. Not any
melee attack like they were before.

This will make a lot of people happy. Maybe it makes up for Rod o'Reaving

The things most likely to be of relevance to people:

PHB
* Arcane Initiate now allows use of other Wizard implements (such as tomes).
* Rod of Reaving no longer damages minions.

AV
* Double Weapons have been fixed - some improvements (they can now be
treated as two-handed weapons, enchantment properties apply to both
ends), some clarifications (each end gets its own properties & weapon
type), some changes (double axe no longer defensive, double flail does
less damage, double sword does less damage and no longer counts as a
heavy blade, off-hand end of urgrosh does less damage)
* Bloodclaw Weapons now only get their power once per encounter, but
on the plus side you only have to activate it after you hit.
* Minor changes to the wording of Orb of Imposition, Earthroot Staff &
Phrenic Crown to make stacking of saving throw penalties less of an
encounter-breaker.

FRPG
* Swordmages no longer lose their Warding for the encounter after
falling unconscious.
* Spitting-Cobra Stance, the extra attacks are now immediate reactions
rather than opportunity actions.

PHB2
* Avengers no longer get their Armour of Faith benefit when wearing
leather or hide armour.
* The Barbarian At-Wills which formerly required a two-handed weapon
now allow any melee weapon wielded in two hands.
* The Druid At-Will Call of the Beast is now enemies only.
* Agile Opportunist Feat, the extra attacks are now immediate
reactions rather than opportunity actions.

Arcane Power
* You can now buy nonmagical tomes for 7gp.

Players Handbook Heroes Power Cards
* Eldritch Strike can now be chosen as an alternative to Eldritch
Blast by any Warlock.
* Chilling Cloud now deals cold damage.

As Peter Seckler reminds ... the only (mechanical) benefit being in an ADCO
gives you is that you get the extra (singular) Adventuring Company action point.
For purposes of playing the ADCP module you can certainly try to score points
for your particular ADCO if you're so inclined, and being part of an ADOC can be
fun from an RP viewpoint, but it isn't necessary in order to play it.

It is also worth noting that this has run at many conventions successfully, including GenCon and PAX. Just form an adventuring company at the table, play, and enjoy. If you have the ability to sign up in advance, such as by contacting people you know that would play in that slot, that could be more fun. You could also come up with an idea for an AdvCo and propose it to the table, for more RP fun.

I've played this with a long-standing AdvCo, with 'pickup' temporary AdvCos, and judged it for both kinds. The adventure is a good one regardless.

A practice that was used at the gameday that I played this at was to create an
Adventuring Company that anyone at the con could join, and have four of the six
people at the table join it.

This is only really a problem if your PCs are all in existing AdCos.

Also remember the adventuring company may be set up at the table, they just have to commit until they get their next level. So a company is not that hard to get together.
I ran this here in the UK and it was easy enough.

Subject: Re: [LivingFR] Bashcon HELP!!

That is a little inaccurate - The mechanism in ADCP1-1 is that the table as mustered must be:
* 4 players from the same adventuring company
* Within one of the adventure level bands - that is, 1-4, 4-7, 7-10, or 11-14.
