Isn't beam spread still wide enough to make any sort of magnification unneccesary at range? Unless you were worried about firing on a teammate in a non-FF game...

The beam spread is still pretty tight. Plus, a scope helps you acquire targets at longer ranges. I wouldn't go with a high mag scope, however....

it is not going to give you more range. Just helps you aim right at the sensor at range. For me with not so great eyesight it helps a lot....
