This is not another centaur group, this is a group for people who have
centaur characters in the Living Greyhawk game, specifically. I would hazard
an educated guess that very few have a centaur as their main character,
either.

I think it's best not to dwell on exactly what type of "one-on-one
roleplaying" Eagle is searching for.

This group hasn't been very active for awhile. We had a lot of activity when we

to make effective centaurs. Since LG is ending this year, most "support" type

The Living Greyhawk campaign is still quite playable for the rest of this
year, although new adventures have stopped coming out. I'm still hoping to
play a few more adventures with my Centaur, to finish out his story.
I'm not aware of people roleplaying on this email list, other than as an
aside.

I figure that once I'm laying out that kind of cash I might as well make it
MW, so it can be enchanted later. On the other hand, if you travel with
people with greater magic weapon commonly, it might not be needed.
--Penn
For 300gp it would be silly not to make it MW with the potential for magic later
(at APL12-14 even 2kgp isn't much).

Thanks,
I double checked the PHB, and you don't _HAVE_ to make a compose bow a
masterwork weapon.
I'm figuring that even without magic or masterwork, having a standoff weapon
with +7 damage will be usefull. Probably worth the 900gp, but I might wait an
AR or two.

Can I just choose to buy a +7 stength compise longbow, or do I need

My centaur has been it to tenth level (Ranger 4) by playing in many of
the adaptables. I finally got him to seventh level (Ranger1) and got
a group together to play Red Hand of Doom. Our group of six included
three centaurs, including mine, plus I believe it was an Asherati, a
Dwarf, and an elf. We bought and used a lot of fly potions during the
adventure. We survived the advance and my centaur made it to tenth
level. Am trying to find some APL 10 adventures now to try to gain
more experience. We played Red Hand over Memorial Day weekend. We
actually started Friday morning, played all day Friday and Saturday,
and finished on Sunday afternoon. Note that our DM gave us a bunch of
repetitive encounters that were basically identical. He ran us
through one or two to see how well we handled it, then conceded the
rest after we romped through them. We mainly played the "important"
or higher ECL type encounters. In the end we were victorious. Three
high strength centaurs can dish out a lot of damage! Two were fighter
types and one was an archer specialist. Melee attacks did 3d6+10 or
so per hit, while the archer was doing 2d6+7 per hit. Haste and
rapid shot added up to four attacks per turn with the possibility of
doing 8d6+28 damage a turn.
The adaptables seem to be a good way to quick level up a character.
If you haven't played many of them, find a group and judge and run
your centaur through them. Unfortunately, I had already run a 9th
level character through most of the higher level adaptables before my
centaur got high enough to play them.
Tom Wagner
My centaur stalled in level 1 due to the fact that my schedule kept me from
making events. I had hoped to take him Wizard. *grins*

Er, the advice was to pay no attention to variant costs for things other
than weapons and armor. You definitely have to pay attention to those costs,
as they can really add up quickly.
Costs for other things aren't specified. Clothing I apply the same modifiers
as for armor, things that are wielded I do like weapons, and most things
don't change.

Yeah if you are a warrior type of a centaur who is armored up in anything
but full plate i'd just deduct about 400 gold (that is the average assuming
multiple weapons and at least a breast plate). If you are a light armor
person with say like leather i'd take off 150.

I don't think it changes for most fo those things. In practice the cost for
anything but special materials is pretty much irrelevant anyway so I
wouldn't worry too much.

Any centaur with a +3 mithral breatplate got it from a Dwarf in Undermountain
..it's not clear whether it's LG-Legal for a centaur but a number of people have
certainly done it and no one seems to have objected.
[it didn't even occur to me that that was usable by my Centaur]
Drexal is in the database now. He's an ex-monk Great Scimitar Master -just for
Improved Crit and Extra Rage at 11th level.
I'm not entirely sure where I'm going 12+ (shoudl hit 12th at least) but quite
possibly
12 fighter2 tunnel Fighting
13 Fighter3
14 Fighter4 Retrain TF-> Dodge, Mobility, Elusive target
15 ???
Ranger 2 is also pretty tempting to make my ranged threat really nasty: I don't
need them close-in archery feats but an extra shot for 2d6+10 when the enemy are
over 120' away (or flying or just not very nice to melee) would be very nice and
the FE+Wands+Track is hardly useless. (oh and another +3 on my Evasion rolls!)

For large nonhumanoid armor you multiply the base price (including material
but not masterwork) by 4.
Effectively, for Mithral and Adamantine, you multiply by 4 then subtract 450
gp.
Medium armor (like a breastplate) of Mithral will thus cost 3,550gp extra
for light, 15,550gp extra for medium, and heavy will cost 35,550gp extra.
Adamantine will cost more, 19,550gp for light, 39,550gp for medium and
59,550gp for heavy.
That's on top of the quadruple cost of the base armor, and any enhancements.
My Centaur has a Mithral Chain Shirt, it's the most cost effective I
believe.

moves 90 and has a +3 mithral breastplate. With the natural armor he has a
great AC for a raging barbarian type, and he does decent damage (though not the
50+ each hit I've seen some centaurs do). Regretfully, he's become a tertiary
character with the end of the campaign, behind my sorcerer 11 and my Greyhawk
Ruins Character, so I don't think he's going any further.

My Centaur Hurzy is stuck at lvl 6 and won't be seeing much more action I'm
afraid... :( Was a blast to go through the Sulm Empire and some regionals,
but with us playin greyhawk ruins he just has to take a back seat. :)
Good luck to all you mutts out there!
