Re: barnet 1471 norfolk??

As an aside, there is evidence that John Howard (who married Mowbrays daughter
and eventually took the title when granted it by Richard III) was involved in a
fist fight with one of the Pastons.

Howard was a loyal retainer of Mowbray and it's likelt it was howard who led
Mowbray's delayed forces onto the battlefield at Towton, turning the tide at a
critical point and resulting in the massive Yorkist victory. Mowbray was an ill
man for a long time, and Howard deputized for him a lot. In this role he met
John Tiptoft and hence the Worcester Household's link with the Howards.

Mowbray and the Howards were firmly Yorkist throughout the Wars.

The Pastons were on the losing side at Barnet, fighting for Henry VI. Yes, they were sometimes retainers of the Duke of Norfolk, but not in this instance....
