Hi everyone.
I'm new to the group and the rule set. Thinking of building 6mm armies using the
standard 28mm figures bases (120X60) to get a really massed troop effect. I'm
thinking of 150 figures per base...
Has anyone ever tried anything like this. I would love to see some picture
before I start out.
Simon
Thank you, Lorenzo.

They're elegant, yet simple. I have 2 questions.

Hi Don, welcome on board
1) No, in Impetus there is no alignement. Of course we suppose that somewhat the
troops confront each other, but no phisical movement of bases is applied.
2) The evading Unit keeps it original front. Note also that evading troops must
make ALL the movement phase (a CL cannot evade by less than 12U).
I take occasion to remind that there is a useful (though not yet completed)
tutorial at http://www.dadiepiombo.com/battle.html
cheers

Subject: [IMPETVS] Questions for Impetvs (not BI)
I've played 3 games using these rules and have found them quite enjoyable.
They're elegant, yet simple. I have 2 questions.
1) When a unit contacts an enemy to initiate melee, is there any aligning of
the two units, such as the attacker wheeling so its front edge is in contact
with the base edge of the enemy?
2) Since an evade is a "move to the rear" and not an "about turn," do the
evaders remain facing their original direction?
Thanks - Don

Hi Lorenzo,
Thanks for the quick replies, much appreciated. Cheers

yes, BUA cannor retereat ;-)
In that case (1) the melee ends after the first round. Same happens for example
when fighting against Wagenburg.
2. if the defending Unit leaves the BUA than the BUA is definitively lost, so
you don't need to place your troop to occupy it. Of course it cannot be
assaulted again. Just consider this a impassable terrain.

Subject: [IMPETVS] Melee against BUA's
We played a game tonight where a unit charged an occupied BUA. A couple of
questions arose as a BUA appears to be an opponent that can't be driven back in
melee.
1) Infantry unit A attacks an occupied BUA. Unit A wins the melee, but as the
BUA can't move and has a VBU greater than 0 A stays in contact and the garrison
stays in place. Does A fight another round of melee straight away or wait until
the next turn? Ordinarily A's opponent would recoil and A could try and follow
up or halt, what happens if the enemy can't move after melee?
2) If unit A wins the melee and the garrison unit elects to retreat, can A
follow up and occupy the BUA?
Cheers

Hi Lorenzo,
From a player perspective, this is bad. From a seller perspective,
congratulations! Here's wishing you many years of continued success!
