Turn 5 automatic, Province count 15-3
Turn 1 I had the best hand ever. Major Campaign, Minor Campaign, Syracysa,
Messenger and no 1OPs. I used them to convert Syracuse and attacking first
Croton with Habsurbal (as I had drawn Bruttium Recruits from Rome with
Messenger). Longus tried to follow with naval move, but Habsurbal managed to
intercept and killed 5SPs that were with him. Mago then attacked Sicily where 3
roman SPs had been left without a leader and killed them with 1SP he had.
Turn 2 Hannibal entered Italy via north but suffered very heavy attrition. He
had also suffered epidemic. However Roman SPs were so scarce that Hannibal and
his brother managed to create havoc with just a few SPs and Italian allies. It
also helped a lot Rome had chosen Varro and Longus as consuls.
Turn 3-5 Carthage gradually conquered areas ending in hefty 15-3 province count.
Hannibal himself was killed by Flaminus. Flaminus won first (a desperate) battle
with about same number of combat cards using Double Envelopment as a tactic. And
I even played Mashurbal's Cavalry. Then Hannibal was finished (By Flaminus)
missing 5 counter attack opportunities and one escape (So one counter attack
succeeded, but no escape after that).
