I did a full implementation of the LG stat block format
withing MonsterForge 2.0; alas, Rob moved on to a new format and I never ran across
the time to update.
The implementation I did utilized a fully-formatted export
to MS Word that fit’s Creighton Broadhurst’s specs almost to the letter. The
export was necessary because, even if you can manipulate parts of text in excel
cells via VBA to approximate the format, you cannot get out a format that
matches this spec within excel, or copy/paste the exact result you want into a
document, which was absolutely necessary for LG authors.
I started in on a HeroForge implementation to produce the
same kind of stat blocks there, but dropped the ball. It’s close to an order of
magnitude more work since heroforge doesn’t have the same level of support as
MonsterForge for the intermediary data used to build up LG/MM IV - style stat
blocks, and there are a lot more dependencies built into the tab set. Also,
HeroForge has traditionally been a much faster moving target, and the kinds of
changes required would have added a lot of work to the HeroForge implementation
team for a pretty small gain for most people. Now that LG is gone, It’s even
more difficult to justify the amount of work required; I no longer have the
excuse of helping out the other poor LG authors out there laboring under the
strain of an evil statblock overlord.
