Attached is the latest tweak in spreadsheets, thanks to Clayton. It gives round-by-round scores, rather than cumulative.
What do you think of this way of noting results? Further fun in spreadsheet-land may occur soon.
For those opening the community center and hauling stuff upstairs from the storage locker: Note there are a few empty canvas bags in the locker, on the middle shelf on top of the vinyl boards. The bags have a House of Staunton emblem. We can use the bags to carry the sets and clocks upstairs, rather than load down our arms.
Also, when another group is meeting downstairs when we need to get the equipment, please go around the outside of the community center and enter through the back door, so as not to disturb the other group. This request per Barbara, the lady who just replaced Nelson Hoyt as hands-on rep for the town Recreation Commission.
Middle-age moment dept: I have Harold's plaque. It's gorgeous. It was in my car last night; I meant to bring it inside and show it to the group, but....I forgot. A few years ago those last two words were not in my vocabulary: A good memory is the one piece of the "natural talent for chess" equation I have. Or had. At least I think so; it's hard to recall.
Tentative pairings for round four coming soon.
